This is not a fancy hotel, but has a convenient location. The rooms are clean,  the breakfast not much to talk about,  but considering the price one mustn't expect much. I just go to Java or any of the many restaurants in the neighbourhood.  To anyone looking for only a safe, clean and inexpensive room close to the CBD, I will recommend Karibu Hotel.

Value for money

I have stayed at the hotel while on business in Nairobi. The rooms are basic, the bathroom has a small water heater tied up on the shower, breakfast is a bit ok but still basic, internet connectivity is fair.
It's relatively cheap compared to similar hotels in the same location.
It's so basic but ok if you are operating on a very tight budget

Budget hotel

Cheep hotel . Good serbice. Wifi does not work all over . Lift to 8 th floor . Good breakfirst. Good food . Cheep in price .staf are so good . Receiptionist is very fast to act in case.insekts and mosquito .

This hotel advertise that they offer free wi-fi, But it didn't
So I had to go out at night for internet.
Very noisy at night. I mean extremely noisy.

But if you don't mind that this hotel don't have wi-fi, I might be good hotel with budget room.

No Wi-fi

This was a one night stay for a group of UK travelers, and was i believe a last minute booking.
I would have rather went all the way home than stayed another night in this hotel.
Yes it was a basic budget hotel,... which requires a major overhaul to bring it back to basic and budget.
The bedrooms are quit large and horrible, the bathrooms......none of our group of about twenty would use the showers, they were filthy and had bare electric wires exposed. Only one member of our group dared to undress and go intohis bed, the rest of us slept fully clothed on top of the covers. we are a group of builders so prepared for an element of roughing it, but not near to this degree.
The rooms are noisy as it is very busy in the streets outside.
The corridors have spare beds and headboards lying about and patched plasterboard hanging from some ceilings.
The restaurant could not cope with our group in the morning so we ate very little which was probably for the best.
This may be except able for a budget hotel in Nairobi but for a group of "UK tourists"it is just horrible.

If you're looking for a European x hotel, this is not for you. The place is clean the comfortable bed and the good food, but it's a good hotel for Africans.

An African style hotel

Karibu Hotel between Moi Av. and Tom Mboya at Haile Selassie Av., directly opposite to the Easycoach bus office
Big rooms, twin rooms available, in moderate conditions. Restaurant not recommandable, better book without breakfast at get a better rate. Cheap option (in 08/2015 rooms for 1600 KES).
Good value, better than staying in the River Rd Area.
Best budget option in CBD - especially when coming or continuing travel with Easycoach.
