As Kenyan travelers know, many bars and restaurants are closed here on Mondays, coupled with the virus, it can be difficult to find a place to eat.  We stopped in here today and had an enjoyable meal at a very reasonable price.  We aren't staying at the hotel, so I can't speak of the room quality, but the restaurant is worth checking out.  We had the one kilo T Bone for about $10.  More than enough for two with a good portion of take away!

Great restaurant to check out, especially on a Monday

If I could give this place a negative 1; I would.Booked a room through hotels.com paid with my confirmation number. I get to the hotel and I am told is fully booked.Instead of arguing with the receptionist I opted to speak to the manager. For starters the manager is incompent he lied and states the hotel does not deal with booking.com nor hotels.com.He then states the hotel is fully booked for a private event. I decided to call hotels.com. They (hotels.com)spoke to the hotel -Jambo- and they confirmed they had overbooked the property. My money is in the process of being refunded. The manager is rude and obnoxious.He is borderline arrogant. He needs a class in customer service after inconviniencing guests. Please avoid this place at all costs.Save yourself the heartache

Unfriendly and incompetent manager

I stayed in this hotel.  I had a nice room, but apparently all of the rooms do not have air con, so beware.  The room was very clean, but dated. There is a restaurant on site, and there is a huge pool.  If you are from the US, this hotel might be on level with a Red Roof Inn.  I did not have any bad experiences, but would not stay here again.

Photos can be deceiving

My stay here was just a mess.Upon the first day the staff were very rude.The restaurant charges a large sum of money for buffet and yet one cannot eat to their fill because of food rationing.Food is not too good as well.
The hotel does not have a full equipped first aid kit for emergency.
The rooms are not secure and lack safes and clear signs incase of an emergency.
Manager should stop harassing the customers without reason.
This place needs a saviour,very poor managment.

Not a hospitable place,looks good from out but its a dungeon on the inside,rude managers and unkind staff .

Closer to Msa-Malindi highway and so is easily accessible, rooms are clean, with aircon and therefore a guaranteed cool environment in the humid coastal weather.
The staff are very friendly, from the reception to the porters to the restaurant. There is a balcony for a view around the hotel. They have a sizeable pool by the restaurant. 
Breakfast and meals were very good, a variety to choose from, fresh fruits etc.
 


Worth the while in Mombasa, Mtwapa

Stayed here for 1 night. The room was nice, clean and tidy. It was a comfortable stay, food was okay . Staff very helpful, location very convenient and quiet. Good value for money. Budget friendly and good for solo travelers too.

clean and tidy

There were cockroaches in my room (214). The loud 'music' by the poolside is a nuisance to those dining and Those resting in the rooms facing poolside. Staff are offended when asked to tone down on he music volumes.

Short holiday trip

The staff were not very friendly. 

The room I stayed in looked clean at the first glance but I found a number of cockroaches in it. The room overlooked the parking lot and so there was a lot of noise from the main road. 

The breakfast buffet is very limited and needs improvement 

Needs work 

Located just a few meters off the Mombasa Malindi road in Mtwapa, Jambo Travellers  hotel offers an ideal stopover for guests wishing to stay for a few days. The rooms facing the swimming pool have a good view for sunrises. The hotel has hospitable staff and the rates are pocket friendly
