Seafront Guesthouse consists of 2 things: the Seafront Café just on the street and the rooms in the building behind it.
The room was great: consisting of 2 floors, with a bathroom and a big double bed on the first floor, and an upstairs covered terrace with another bed up there, it was very peaceful, clean and homely. The view from the upstairs terrace was spectacular, especially at night with the prayer chants in the background.
The café in front serves good food in a peaceful setting; it even has a cat that is fun to watch due to the poses it has while sleeping :)
Mia (the owner) was extremely helpful with everything, especially for helping us find the right people to transport us to and from the airport on the little boats (transport, by the way, is included in the price of the room, so you don't even have to worry about haggling for the price or anything), and overall did a great job of making us feel comfortable and at home.

Best place to stay in Lamu

The seafront guesthouse is situated absolutely perfectly for exploring Lamu.
The two guest  bedrooms are equipped with everything you need, set in their own private garden just to the rear of the café.
The cafe itself could not be better situated, right on the seafront. Beautiful to have your breakfast in the morning looking out
at the working port. Wi Fi also available so you can sit in the cafe having a coffee dealing with emails looking out onto a beautiful waterfront.
The 2 hosts, Kirsty and Mia, really could not have been more helpful- they went out of their way to make our stay everything we wanted it to be.
Even helping with finding out flights and transport etc- also little things like-laundry handed in in the morning will be returned washed and ironed that evening.

Idyllic setting and perfect hosts

Good location with only a few minutes' walk from the pier.  The room is at the back of the Seafront Cafe and you would have privacy.  Nicely decorated, the room is filled with fragrance of flowers.  Wifi in the room.  Toilet and towels were clean with good shower.  Though no fan, we did not feel the heat of Lamu.  Breakfast was served with fresh fruit juice, omelette and bread which was of good portion.  Enjoyed the stay a lot!
