I when with my family went in December 2023 for a 3 nights stay at Ol Seki!.  We had selected this private conservancy in Mara as our travel agent told us that, it has a higher chance of seeing the cheetahs.  We were not disappointed! We saw a female cheetah at a close range.  We also saw a leopard, lions and lionesses, elephants and lots of other wild animals.  As we live in South Africa, we have often gone to Kruger National Park.  However, I would say that a  Mara Experience is far better.  The hotel, is located by the river and our room had a  beautiful view of the jungle.  The staff and the manager are very friendly and caring.  The chef will even make the food which is not on the menu.  The masage we got was just a WOW!   My family is already talking about going back soon.

This was our first stay at Ol Seki and indeed in a Conservancy, as previously we have stayed in  the Mara and other National Reserves in Kenya.

It is a small, but a Gem of a camp.  The team at Ol Seki are all first rate, indeed the rules about being back in the lodge by dark, don't apply.   

The main thing for me though was the sheer abundance of wildlife, the area has a Tents, Food and Facilities are all of the highest standard and the density of game is unbelievable.  It is clear talking to the people that they are passionate about where they are and what they are doing.

Whilst we were staying there,  we were lucky enough to have Mel doing front of house, which was lovely as we know Mel from previous tips to Hemingways Watmu,  another amazing hotel, in the small but perfectly formed Hemingways Group.   

Mel did a great job in introducing us to our fellow guests and managed to make it feel as if we were all guests for the weekend at a house party.  Ol Seki has an amazing, atmosphere, the view from our Tent, watching the game was incredible.  There is also plenty to do in between game drives.  The team organised for us to go hot air 
Walking Safaris are also possible and because the lodge is in a Conservancy, not a National Park, you can have Sundowners whilst on a game drive as the very strict ballooning, an experience that I will never forget, it was absolutely magical.  
strong population of Lions' Leopards as well as Elephants, Giraffes, Hippo's etc.  As there are far fewer guests, the experience is so much better as you see very few other vehicles when out on a game drive, making it more relaxing for you and for the wildlife.  

This is one place I know we will definitely go back to.  The combination of Ol Seki and Hemingways Watmu, Safari and Beach made for a  simply perfect trip.

There are no words to describe this wonderful place but I will try to summarise our stay here.
We spent 3 nights here, and this was our first ever safari. From our arrival to departure, we felt so well looked after and nothing was too much for the staff.
Mel and everyone at the camp were friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming.
Our guide Mike was the highlight of our mornings and afternoons. Every game drive with him was an adventure. He is really friendly, relaxed and funny! Also extremely knowledgeable about the animals and wildlife, and an excellent driver!!
Our lodge was simply stunning, the main restaurant and lounge as well as the pool and terrace were also beautiful.
Bush breakfast on our last day was probably the highlight of our stay, and our stake out with the lionesses the night before was a close second!
Everyone we met was also really lovely, and it just goes to show that Hemingways Ol Seki attracts wonderful guests.
We hope to be back one day soon!

My husband and I had the most wonderful start to our honeymoon at Ol Seki. We were greeted at the air strip and taken back to camp where we had the most wonderful surprise by Mel who had upgraded us to the Simba tent. Wow!! We cannot explain how grateful we are! Big boss the chef, William, Moui and Amos you made our stay utterly wonderful and we’ll remember you all so fondly. The food was amazing, the service impeccable and Amos your game drives were a joy and something we’ll never forget. Thank you!! P.S. please share the photos of your staff with them 😊

The absolute trip of a lifetime! 
From the minute we were greeted at the airstrip to the minute we left we had the most incredible experience at Ol Seki. 
Mike our driver and guide made our safari extra special, suddenly arriving at a den of hyenas on the first game drive to being handed a glass of wine and snacks, it was just magical.
Mel greeted us with a warm friendly hug and her roll was taken over by Debbie who also was kind and caring. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic. 
We especially loved the food made every day, the chef catered our every needs. The bush breakfast was spectacular along with our romantic cave dinner. 
The lodge itself was pure luxury, overlooking the Masai Mara with stunning views of the animals in the distance. The extra care and detail from the morning coffee delivery to reusable water bottles was a great addition too.
We can’t wait to come back one day in the future.

The service was amazing. Everyone is so friendly and kind. They made us chilled and relaxed. 

We saw many animals, our guide Isaac was fantastic. A great and patient gentleman. He took us on a tour of the Maasai village and gave a talk on the history
We saw many lions, giraffes, elephant, hyenas, jackals, cheetah,  gazelle, buffalo, hippo, wildebeest and so many birds. The vehicle was sturdy and clean and they had ponchos for the cold and the rain.

David the GM was great, you can see that the whole places runs well because of him and his team is fantastic.

Food : We loved all the salads at lunch. Dinners were great and so was the breakfast. Lots of drinks. They are not shy on the measures. The restaurant staff were kind and always prompt. We loved dining with the others guests too. Met some great people.

The pool was clean, well maintained and a great place to relax in the afternoons between game drives.

Our room was newly refurb and what a great job they did of it. Big, spacious, great indoor and outdoor shower. Cleaned each day. The laundry service was great, I wish I had not packed so many clothes as it would have all been washed. 

Isaac our driver was very knowledgeable and intuitive.  He knew the drinks we liked and always had them ready for sundowners. 
We had a wakeup call each morning. 

ALL staff are great. Nothing was ever too much.

We cannot wait to come back with all our family.

We have just returned from yet another enjoyable trip to Ol Seki..  This camp has many positives and no negatives.  The staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful, the tents are great -the new ones beautifully done-and all have spectacular views over the plains.  The new dining/lounge tent and infinity pool add to the experience.
The food was excellent and we had a meal in 'the cave' one evening - just the two of us - lit by candles and a huge campfire, very romantic.  We also enjoyed a bush breakfast.  It was a great pity about the bush dinner - all prepared and then the heavens opened and it had to be abandoned.  However, Debbie had  a contingency plan and the meal back at camp was as good as ever.
The game viewing was excellent and Patrick, our driver and guide, was great.  His knowledge of animals, birds and plants was extensive and we had plenty of bird spotting as well as many animals including many lions, 2 cheetahs, a leopard, elephants, giraffe and all the usual plains game.  The advantage of the conservancy is less vehicles and there is always something different and interesting to see, even after 6 nights.
Our thanks to  Debbie, David, Patrick and all the other staff at the camp, including George, with whom we had many interesting conversations.  Hopefully, we shall be back again next year.

The customer care from all of the staff was amazing. The food great. The ‘tent’ had solid walls and compared easily with a five star hotel. The tent canopy roof was hilarious once you got over the first night of scary noises from scurrying feet and far away roars!
Our guide was very knowledgeable and patient. A special thank you to our lovely hostess.
I can’t recommend this place enough and hope to go back. We were two friends of a certain age but fit in well with the honeymooners!

From arrival to leaving, the Ole Seki Hemingway experience was exceptional. The lodge manager was brilliant and, with her team, they ensured we had the most amazing time and didn’t miss out on anything. The lodges were immaculate, all meals delicious and the safari trips extraordinary, truly such an adventure each and every time we went out. Our guide and driver was extremely knowledgeable and an incredibly skilled spotter, which meant we got to see the big five a number of times and so much more. The thing to know about Ole Seki is it is one of a limited number of lodges in a conservancy area owned by the Mari, which means they can control and limit how many people come and the number of safaris that take place, they have the complete run of the 200km sq area, which felt like we had our own private trip out each time without having to share the animals and experiences with lots of other people. Perfect! With a pool to relax by, small plane flight in and out and the team arranged a stunning private dinner with an open fire on the night of a ‘special’ birthday for us, this really was the perfect way to experience Safari. Just amazing, highly recommend.

We’ve been on safari before, and this was the best! The “tents”:are fabulous - impeccably clean, with views of the Massi Mara on three sides, a huge, comfortable bed, gorgeous bathroom and huge balcony. Our guide,Raffi, was incredibly knowledgeable and managed to show us more animals on the short drive from the landing strip to the lodge than we’d seen in S.Africa. Over the 4 days we saw all of the animals we were interested in, a lion pack on a hunt, a zebra carcass picked clean by vultures and hyenas, baby giraffe, baby elephants, newly born lion cubs, huge number of rhino, the list just goes on…
Debbie, the manager, made sure that we were having a great time.
We couldn’t recommend this more highly!
