Vipingo Ridge

A fantastic location with so much to offer children and adults alike. Cycling, goggling, SUP boarding, great food, kids clubs and disco, horse riding, exciting wildlife, not to mention the golf course.

This is a world class golf course, Anyone of any skill level can go here and play golf there are also golf lessons available for a first timer. The courses are clean tidy and in excellent condition.

Well recommended to anyone (even those who have never played golf before)

My wife and I attended a wedding at this venue and cannot commend it highly enough.
The arrangements and everything else was perfectly conducted. The food was first class and the staff very friendly and helpful.
The rooms were also excellent and the Vipingo facilities were plentiful and varied.
We spent four days at Viking and were treated royally. A first class facility in every respect.

We love Vipingo Ridge. It was our second time there. Really liked the fact that breakfast is now part of the package. However, on Christmas Day, the management decided to limit us to one glass of juice (it’s not even fresh juice, rather from Delmonte packs). Super annoying since it’s super hot.

We also wanted to go to the beach just to enjoy the ocean abs sand, perhaps get afew drinks. At first they wanted a cover charge abs when I questioned it, the manager said the beach was full. Needless to say I was furious. How can the dabs be full? When we got to the beach club, no one was there. All who came for lunch came at or after 2. Worst was that the manager called the beach club and told them not to serve us unless they were slow. Ludovica is not about customer service. It’s a shame given how exclusive this place is.

We stayed at a friends place on the golf resort whilst the back 9 was closed to prepare for the PGA tour later this year.  The maintenance crew were working so hard and we got to play the full 18 (temp greens on the back 9) just before we left.  Course is great (I'm a beginner and my partner plays off 16 so mixed ability) and Sipha, our caddy for almost 3 weeks was amazing - improved my game and was just great to have around.  The team in the pro-shop were also really friendly and helpful. 

The club house has great breakfast, decent pizza and a nice team serving G&T's with a great view of the course. 

The sundowner bar is a fun pub for watching sports etc.  Service is OK and food is same menu but somehow not as good but a nice change of environment for playing snooker or hanging by a different pool. 

The beach club is divine... make sure your hire car is robust as the distance is short but the road is bumpy (and not well sign posted).  Pristine views of the Indian Ocean with day beds, loungers and lots of tables serving good food and cocktails.   The menu is the same in all 3 venues which is limiting but the food is good.

I have never been soooo disappointed in service at a restaurant in all my travels at the Coast...this was a first. For a high-end Golfing resort with amazing homes, first-class golf course and beautiful villas, our experience at the restaurant was a complete downer.

Great coastal experience/ stingy management. Villas are simply but well appointed, The COVID protocol was well observed.

Beautiful Villas but useless club house/restaurant

Fantastic Golf course.

Slightly disappointing. Came for a 2 night stay with my boyfriends which was supposed to be the highlight of our 2 week stay in Kenya. Nevertheless, the service and food quality was dreadful. It regularly took upwards of 20 minutes to receive a bottle of water, let alone food! 

On a more positive note, the golf course was in exceptional condition and the caddie provided some pretty decent insight (minus some misreads on the greens). 

Overall my boyfriends and I were slightly unamused at the quality of our stay. If it wasn’t for the chocolate covered waffles on the final night I would given Vipingo Ridge a 1 star 👍🏼

Slightly disappointing

Here with friends for a wedding on the weekend.  The property and the golf course is awesome. Truly world class! Certainly a great venue for a destination wedding and convenient as you can get a flight directly onto the property from Nairobi's Wilson Airport.  We stopped by the restaurant for lunch on our arrival and ordered what we thought were simple meals of wraps, burgers and fries. One hour into the wait, and having waited inordinately long even for tea and wine, we were informed that they only had meat for two of the four burgers we had ordered. We said we would share what was available, but at the end of a two hour wait, we really had to leave, as no food was forthcoming. Great disappointment for a place that is home to Africa's first Golf Course with a PGA accreditation.  Their restaurant team doesn't seem to have received that memo.......🙄

Beautiful venue for a wedding, but don't visit the restaurant if you are hungry

Arrived late in the evening (9pm) with two children. After a rather high-handed guard cleared us at the main gate, we were met by Hussein - part of the housekeeping team who rudely informed us to walk over to the club house (we'd mistakenly driven towards the nearby conference centre) and after asking us how we had gotten to the venue in the first place. Vipingo Ridge is massive but, without proper orientation, at 10am the next day, when the children eventually found the correct pool for our row of villas, they were told that they couldn't use it for at least 1.5 hours because it had just been treated. In 30 degrees heat, they were obviously looking forward to swimming. The front office manager was curt when we called her for assistance through the morning and after much follow-up, the head housekeeper arrived to assist with queries at 4pm. We received an equally rude reception at the Sundowner pool and play area where one of the staff, Brenda, instructed us to refer to the makeshift reception at the club house before we could swim, despite the facility being open for residents. Staff training in basic hospitality seems to be lacking although housekeeping team members Harrison, Furaha and Hilda have been exceptional. Overall very poor reception for world-class prices.
