Stayed one night on transit and found it to just what I needed.
Located in one of safest areas of the city and within walking distance of yaya shopping mall, chemists, hotels , public transport etc  . Also quiet  and  private
I found the place very clean with a welcoming and efficient cook in attendance 
Above all a lovely homely environment , value for money
Check out is early I.e 10am but one is allowed to keep luggage in store and relax in living area while waiting to leave 
 

I honestly don't know where to start with what I liked about Vine Homes! Literally everything! I can’t recommend it highly enough. The rooms are clean, spacious and nicely decorated, there's a lovely communal living room with comfy sofas to relax in after a long and often chaotic day in Nairobi, the garden is perfect for sitting, reading and working in, the guest house is in a great and safe location, the breakfast is different every day and is always delicious and the staff and management are absolutely delightful - indeed they were from the moment I arrived! It's one of the few places I've stayed in that has felt like an actual home rather than just somewhere to sleep in, and it probably explains why I ended up staying for over a month when I was originally only meant to stay for a week! Add to that the fantastic value for money compared to most other guest houses/hotels in the city and you’ve got yourself a winner. Please don’t consider anywhere else in Nairobi!

In light of an earlier comment, I also feel obliged to add that in my month long stay Peter has never tried to sell me any additional services that I have not asked for. Far from doing business all the time, my personal experience is that Peter goes out of his way to find you to ask about your day, how you’re getting on and whether your stay can be made more comfortable. I do count him as a friend

I really enjoyed my stay at Vines Homes. I was there for 3 weeks on business and could not imagine a more comfortable home away from home. The staff is so helpful and friendly and I really enjoyed talking with the other guests from around the world. The location is also excellent.

How away from home

A genuine home away from home!

Such a gem! Lovely home and wonderful staff

Cons: The airport pickup was a disaster - they had gone to the wrong terminal and no one was there to meet me. It took about 1 1/2 hours to straighten out. The location didn't feel very safe. I paid for the days I had booked, then stayed longer, asked for a discount, was given one, paid what they asked, got a receipt and was pleased. Ten minutes later the cook (who was managing the place) returned to my room and said that no, I hadn't paid enough, because the manager said the discount didn't start until today, and he wanted another 5000 shillings. Despite discussion (through the cook, who was very unhappy about it and kept apologizing) the manager insisted on more money. I paid and left - a very unhappy customer.

Pros: Comfy bed, nice breakfast. Dickens (the cook) was very helpful.

I ended up feeling cheated ...

1. Manager runs the house as a way to sell aditional services like taxis, shuttles, safaris,...at a high prices and not clear conditions. Once he has your money, agreements are change without possibility to complain or get the money back. And all of this is done taking advantage of the good atmosphere you have got in the house with the other customers as you feel as at home and you stop remaining vigilant. Remember: he is not a friend. He is doing his business al the time.
2. Towels and bathroom should be renovated.
3. Wifi was ok
4. The staff (Dickens) was very nice
5. Good location near the Yaya Centre
