It was a wonderful experience, a procession of forest animals from herbivores to great carnivores from sunset, night with photos and footage from the terrace, dinner and naps between one shot and the other.

From the top of the trees

This place was different to other places on our trip. The hotel itself is old, and has a n interesting history. It was nice to see the old pics and newspaper clippings at the hotel. 
The restaurant was good. The room was clean. It was a bit small, but worked OK. 

At ground level, there is a room with viewing ports. As there are a few waterholes around the hotel, it was easy to spot elephants, buffalos, bushbuck and other arriving animals. The elephants liked the water soo much, they remained in the pool all night, making elephant noises. Very nice for a couple of hours...but one wanted to sleep at a given point. But hey...that's the sound of nature and wildlife. 

The tour we did was nice.

Good old Treetops

We stayed here for 1 night as part of our safari. Rooms with a view of the watering hole. As we were there out of season there were only 11 guests in total. We were lucky enough to see so many animals. Rhino, elephants, hyenas, buffalos, Bushbaby and antelope. The ground floor viewing hide was an amazing place to watch the elephant. You could almost touch them.

Magical

The treetops is steeped in history and that is all that it is riding on now. There is nothing exceptional about this place. The rooms are quite average as is the food. The service (especially at the restaurant) is below average. They really need to pull up as it wont run on it's history alone forever.

Historical but that almost all.

The best part is undoubtedly the pool, where you can see a large number of animals from the terrace on the top floor.The hotel has a noticeable deterioration and lack of maintenance.The food is good and the customer service is excellent.For one night it is fine, but nothing more.

It is an urgent remodeling.

Treetops is amazing, especially the history where it had just 2 rooms when it was first built. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the rooms are clean, and face the waterhole so you don't miss a chance to sight animals. The food was amazing with a good variety. Perfect place to relax and enjoy all the animals coming to you. I loved every bit the trip and would definitely recommend the lodge because of the historical experience.

Historical and Amazing

This place has a lot of history which is well displayed when you visit. Food was excellent. Rooms were good too. All rooms have a view to the waterhole. Alot of animals come to the waterhole. Staff were welcoming and very helpful.

It has a buzzer system in the rooms. When animals come it is activated so you can view them.

Historical location with wildlife

Treetops needs a total refurbishment and a lot of money spent, floors are creaky, rooms are basic. We stayed for one night on the start of the safari. breakfast and dinner is buffet style which was ok. Staff are brilliant and helpful. Did not see a lot at the watering hole. The stay was nostalgic as we were allocated the room where the Queen stayed.

Treetops living on nostalgia

It's true that my expectations for the Treetops were low, but I must admit that it's worth taking a night out to enjoy the experience.The hotel has a charm and a rooftop where you can contemplate an unforgettable dawn.If you wish, you'll be notified at night with timbres so you can watch the animals.It's true that the bathrooms could be renovated but I insist it's worth a stop here.

It's worth the experience.

Treetops was a little disappointing when we pulled up first because its outside is rather tired. However, when you look at it closely, you can see the thought process behind the wooden slatted exterior and tall stilts. It is intended to blend into the natural surroundings and allow the native animals to feel more at ease being so close to humans. 
There is a watering hole right outside the back where you can watch various animals come to drink. 
The restaurant is very nice and the food was delicious. 
The room itself was old fashioned and small but comfortable. 
The viewing area outside is very picturesque and we enjoyed sitting there watching the evening come in. 
It is a great experience, it is a piece of history, British royalty has stayed there. I enjoyed the stay but one night was sufficient for us.
