Varvara and Vladimir are amazing people !
Initally we booked only one night but  ended up staying for 4 nights.
They helped us with everything we needed. Vladimir is a person with vast knowladge on history and art. We even met with their friend Viktoria who was willing to show us around Syram which was amazing.
The house is near the city center , comfortable and spacious.
But most of all , we felt like home. 

I highly recommend ShymArt guesthouse :)

The ultimate point of a guesthouse, is to make you feel like home. And this, ShymArt does it really good. You would think that since it was opened only two months ago it’s not fully functional, but during our stay there we could not feel any better.
Vladimir, Barbara and Gael, not only are the owners and workers of the place, but will be also your friends during your stay.

The property is fully remodeled and painted basically by Barbara, which has great ideas when it comes to art and taste.

In the ground floor, you will find the hall, with books and games, and the kitchen and toilet. Outside there is also the garden with the entrance, where there is a topchan, that is a common Kazakh big bench for people to sit and chill when it’s fresh during the evening. And to sleep you will have to go upstairs, where there are the rooms with bunk beds.

Following the artistic touch they have, they also organize literary evenings, acoustic concerts and photography exhibitions in the guesthouse. We didn’t coincide with any of those, but look really interesting!

Finally, the place is quite outside of the center, but it’s located in a very quiet neighborhood. Right next to it you have a a couple of minimarkets, some stalls where to buy Kazakh food, and even a park with some gym equipment to work out. And if you want to get to the center you will do it in 10 minutes with the bus 74 or 26 that passes by almost next to the guesthouse.

Wonderful experience staying at the Shymart Guest House in Shymkent. We stayed for 4 nights and it was the perfect base for us while exploring the city. Very clean, organized, and comfortable beds. Both the managers went out of their way to make us feel welcome and provide information about the city and surrounding region. 

There was space for us to park our motorbike as well which for us was perfect. 

Great kitchen to use and lounging space. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to visit Shymkent.

I have nothing wrong to say about Shym’art guesthouse, everything was perfect ! 
Good location, not far from city center, with all amenities around and in a quiet area. 
Great kitchen, clean bathroom with hot water, comfortable living-room… The rooms are perfectly situated, facing south and lightened by the afternoon sun. The mattresses are the best I experienced in central Asia: thick and soft, not like these 3cm mattresses I saw everywhere… You’re sure to sleep very well! 

The owners are very kind and helpful about any matter. Gaëlle made me a city tour, going out of the main tracks, full of history and very interesting! Gaëlle is very passionate about Shymkent and the area around, so if you can go in tour with her, don’t hesitate! ;-) 

They made my stay very lovely! =)
