Plaza Hotel

I stayed for one night in room number 13, floor 3 in Sept 2015. For a small town like Kokshetau, Hotel Plaza is clearly the best bed and breakfast option. The rooms tend to be quite cold (but we are speaking of Northern part of Kazakhstan here and one should be ready that it is in fact colder than anywhere else in the country), but there is an AC which can be also used as a heater and one could also ask for an additional blanket or bring yours as I did. L'occitaine toiletaries provided throughout the hotel. The rooms are very spacious and decorated in European style, we are speaking of living area, bedroom, wardrobe and bathroom with a balcony despite the fact that the hotel is very small itself. Also please note that no spa or pool amentities are there at the hotel, but there is a safe parking space just in front of the premises, there is CCTV and security which is also an important feature for a foreigner or first time Kokshetau visitor. Breakfast is normally included in the price. The staff calls in the evening to confirm that you are having breakfast (you can have it either in the room or at the lobby - both options are free of charge) and asks for what time it should be served. You can choose from three different options - American, European or healthy style breakfast. The breakfast serving is generous and more than enough for one person, although the pastry might be not as freshly baked as you would expect - the rest is delicious, I would recommend going for the healthy breakfast option with porridge and syrniki. Please note that there is no kettle in the room, so everytime you want a tea or coffee, you have to actually call the room service. Recommended for short stays. Best option in town anyway.
