Hotel had a lodge feel with the wood floors and painted beams. Staff was competent and one employee spoke some English. The pool and sauna were fun for the family and they rent some blow-up flotation discs for the younger children to use, since there is no shallow end. The restaurant served tasty food and the free breakfast had a variety of dishes. The mountains and trees feel so close. It was still winter, but there is a playground for children and an outdoor cafe overlooking the lake that would be really nice in the warmer months. The road gets a little rough through one part of Shchuchinsk. It's also not intuitive where to go, though there are many signs pointing the direction to the hotel. The hotel is in the National Park so be prepared to pay the Park Service an entry fee. The restaurant waiter disappeared for 20 minutes when I was ready to pay.
