I went here as part of a cycling trip. Remote place with absolutely fantastic views within easy reach of Shobak Castle. Apartment block is just outside the hotel. Very clean and well maintained.  Not too far from Little Petra and Petra as we were able to cycle from Shobak to Little Petra in a few hours

Nice place, very remote

Lying on the side of a hill, its remote, tranquil and scenic location is 2km (10-minute walk up and down hills/3-minute drive) from the centre of Al Shobak village and almost next to the hilltop ruins of Ash Shawbak Castle.  In a country area, it is slightly off the beaten track and serves as a welcome, quieter and cheaper option than paying the higher hotel prices at Wadi Musa (for Petra), a 30-minute drive and 29km to the south along quiet roads.  The hotel has its own secure parking area whilst spacious rooms, with their solid adjoining walls and balconies, offer views over the valley towards the castle: complimentary and basic amenities (including bottled water) are provided in guest rooms whilst tea/coffee making facilities are not.  Hot and Cold air is supplied from a wall unit.  Free extra blankets/pillows, Baby Bed, Electric Kettle, Steam Iron/Table and Hair Dryer are provided on request.  There is no Hotel Guest Directory in guest rooms so all information must be requested from Reception: this includes the absence of any door label to indicate that the room is ready for servicing or that guests should not be disturbed.  During our three day stay (during which we were the only guests for two of those days), the rooms were not serviced because ‘we did not ask’ even though we had requested it on the second evening after we found that the rooms had not been entered whilst we were out for the day.  A simple and filling cold breakfast was offered with tea/coffee in disposable cups: greater variety may be available if more guests are staying although this was not an issue for us.  Mosquitos like the guest rooms but not the coil that is supplied: a good idea, though, to carry some cream if one is attractive to these pests.
Whilst reasonably comfortable, the hotel can be described as basic and rustic which would benefit from an injection of cash: interior decoration, adornments on the walls and some maintenance to basic fittings and furniture would enhance its appeal whilst the exterior grounds would look smarter with some simple care.  With just a little forethought and attention, this building could be dramatically transformed into a smart and welcoming hotel which, at present, it unfortunately falls short.  Customer Service was satisfactory although information given about Petra was erroneous: fortunately we ignored the advice and that worked to our advantage.
For somewhere just to sleep and eat breakfast without any frills, this hotel is fine.

Quiet and Reasonably Comfortable

As my review indicates, this is a good property.  It is situated on a hill directly opposite the Shobak castle.  Walking there takes 30 minutes.  If you have a car or are with a tour, the location is fine.  Shobak itself is a very small, mostly agricultural place with nothing to do, and the hotel is a couple of kilometers out of town.  So, don’t go there without some kind of transportation and don’t expect entertainment or shopping nearby.  But, the hotel is totally fine.

Good hotel but isolated

The staff was amazing, price was fair in my opinion for one night and breakfast. Room was spacious and worth 4 star rating in my opinion. I would definitely recommend it and if I was in the area and needed a place to stay it would be it

Exceeded my expectations

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel ,the rooms were clean ,tidy with hot water ,amnesties ,good food and friendly service . All our needs were met with utmost speed and accuracy and it was a very good value for money . I do recommend this hotel for all visitors to Al-Shobak area

Surprised to find such a nice hotel in Al Shobak area

We arrived at this hotel because all the other ones around are closed. We were the only guests this day but the manager told us the hotel would be full the next day by 7:30am so we had to LEAVE the room at 6:30. He wanted us to pay 75JD for a bedroom with 3beds. We managed to down the price to 60JD, I think we should have gotten the room at least half price regarding of the conditions. They have a restaurant with no food. The bedrooms are modern but not super clean (we found body hairs in all the beds) the bathroom is ok. The manager of the hotel is rather unfriendly, if you can go somewhere else don't think twice!

Do not go there, it's a trap

This is a nice little hotel, with nice views of Al-Shobak castle (worth a 30 minute visit), especially at sunrise, and lots of mosquitos, especially after sunset. The staff give you a machine that repels mosquitos; check to make sure it works before trying to sleep. The whole hotel-restaurant-next-door-farm was set up to provide employment in this region 30 minutes north of Wadi Musa-Petra. The farm provides vegetables to the restaurant, which feeds the not-too-many guests. The price is good, though, if you have transport to take you on further.

Nice clean room, but should work on details like power sockets, towel freshness and english speaking staff.Good breakfast, staff makes tea by request for free, close to shobak castle and has ac/heater

This was my favorite place to visit in Jordan. The hotel was clean and comfortable. I liked the location because it was close to the dana nature reserve and petra. I will come back to this hotel in my future trip to Jordan.
