Hotel Zuiyo of Yugawara

A word of advice regarding getting to Yugawara to avoid protracted travel arrangements from Hakone: catch the train from Odowara which isn't covered by the Hakone pass, but is inexpensive, and is less than 30minutes. The bus routes from Hakone take about 2hours. I can't relate to the complaints about the location as the town centre is reachable via a frequent bus-service, or walkable if you're feeling adventurous. Upon arriving at Yugawara via the long bus journey from Hakone we were picked up, as requested by the young, and very charming driver from the hotel. The onsen is not among the more remarkable ones i've experienced (try Tenzan in Hakone) but it's OK, and the rooms are spacious, and the general ambience is most pleasing. As far as i could ascertain, Yugawara is a somewhat sleepy town, less glitzy than Hakone. On the seafront you can see the tsunami warning sirens.
