The rooms were very simple and very clean.  I would stay here again.  They only accept CASH, so be prepared for that.  We didn't have a car, so the location wasn't the best, but you can catch a bus about a kilometer down the road.  Views of Mt. Fuji were nice, and the Onsen (hot spring bath) was small but good.  We didn't eat there because we didn't realize you had to let them know ahead of time.

I spent my 2nd and 3rd night in Japan in this hotel after looking for an accomodation over www at Lake Yamanaka. The landlady informed me that there would be a training camp with about 100 school children on my first night and suggested me something else. I knew I would arrive late and would be away for the following day so the children were not bothering at all, but fun to have around. I was sleeping alone in room in the corner room 213 och 312. As there was a quiet some work with all the younger guest my dinner could not be made the hotels kitchen. The landlady did than drive me to the restaurant and picked me up again for free...wow. So much hospitality, incredible. Waking up I got the an in room breakfast and was overwhelmed with the clear view over to Mt Fuji. Coming back from my bicycle trip I enjoyed the outside warm onsen and relax in the outside pool. Especially after having the driven through the much more touristic Fujiyoshida close by Lake Yamanaka had this little off the beaten track feel which was just right. Overall highly recommended. Would go there again.

Great place to stay.

Japanese-modern with a splendid outlook

The staff is great, so helpful, kind and smiling. They can speak English and make you feel at home. Rooms are big enough, clean; heating and internet work well.
Transportation in the area is very bad, you must rent a bicycle to go around and it's also very pleasant, but if for any reason you can't rent a bicycle you're completely out of the world. The only things to see nearby are a temple and the glass craft center in Dallas Village which also has a good restaurant. Another good restaurant for noodles soups is very near to the hotel towards the town, but it closes very early.

Nice and welcoming hotel in the middle of nowhere

Located just 3 minutes walk from Yamanaka lake, this hotel is good in location. The building is new and located just across to the old ryokan (with different name). Room is small but the facility is new and very clean, so I don't really mind the size, this is Japan. We stayed in a room with 3 futon bed for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids).
If you come by car, put extra attention to the sign board as it is not easy to spot. 
Hotel is surrounded by sport facilities: Tennis courts, etc.
If you don't include meal, there is walking distance convenient store to grab some food and at night, the texas theme barbeque restaurant 5 minutes walk is really not bad.

Small room, clean and new

I feel almost guilty just giving Idomea Cozy just three "stars", but given the price point and location, I think that's about right.

VERY nice people who run the hotel
Very clean
Quiet
I think every room has a view of Mt Fuji and the lake.
Nice bathrooms

Cons:
Only a few of the staff speak (any) English
When they say that check-in is at 3pm, they don't mention that the reception is closed until then.  We arrived by taxi at 2pm to find the hotel locked up.
Far from most everything.  You really need a car if you're going to stay here.  Taxi from Fuji-san station is about USD60.  There is a public bus, but it doesn't run very often or late.  Very little within walking distance.
If you want to dine at the hotel, you must book your meal *7 days* in advance.
