The visit started poorly at check-in, when we followed up on previous upgrade request, and a surly young man (who shall remain nameless) treated us like beggars at the Inn. As present and former Ambassadors who have been loyal for many years, this was upsetting. But people make mistakes, and what matters is how one recovers from them. A customer service manager personally apologized with a bottle of Moet and Chandon. And Masako-san graciously approved us for an upgrade (to a lovely suite). In 100 degree weather, they kindly provided a powerful fan. When a zipper was broken on a laundered item, it was quickly repaired, and the cleaning charge voided. Really, very hospitable and gracious. Breakfast in the lounge was perhaps a somewhat smaller selection, but still excellent. Attentive service, all the standard breakfast items, as well as fruits, pastries, coldcuts, juices, and great coffee machine. Also fairly quiet and uncrowded with great views. At night they had some great wines on offer, Moet, Beringer reds, etc. quite nice. Nearby is excellent mall with great restaurants, a terrific supermarket, and the Robuchon HQ. Got to meet some of the other Managers and Masako-san personally escorted us to our Uber. True 5 star service!
