Stayed here for 10 days in April 2018. The staff was amazing, and great guests too, which created a great atmosphere. It felt like home. I actually ended up deciding to stay there for the rest of my trip because of that. A lot of the guests were also locals, which created very interesting conversations. Everyone always felt comfortable chilling on the tatami. For multiple nights, the guests and staff would cook and share meals together. It was a blast. Location of this guesthouse is also good. It is walking distance (10-20 minutes) to Nishi park, the Date Mausoleum, Sendai Castle, Mediatheque. For further trips, several guests with a JR pass just did day trips from Sendai to other locations and came back to this hostel. I myself did a day trip to Tokyo to meet a friend, and it was still good.
