Ryokan Hidagyu No Yado

We stayed here for one night during our Dec family trip to Central Japan. Our room came with a private in room onsen. For ¥15000++ per pax for a room with private onsen and includes dinner and breakfast, it is very cheap. They had different price depending on the dinner menu you choose. We pick the middle package. Dinner was very very good. The steam Hida beef melts in your mouth. The grains porridge was delicious and there was even grilled skewered fish and rice cake, a speciality of the region. Breakfast was traditional Japanese and was excellent too. The speciality sake in this region is served with a grilled fish soaked in it. We found it too fishy for our liking. Service was excellent not only at mealtimes. The staff actually made sure we took the right bus to the Shin Hotaka Ropeway. At checkout, they also walked us to the bus stop and made sure we got on the right bus. This is definitely the place to stay if you visit the region.
