A very nice and simple Japanese hotel. Amazing breakfast and the nicest people.. would highly recommend this to anyone travelling Japan. What an experience! Not doing something like this in your trip will make it not succesful!


I really enjoyed my stay here although it was further away from the town. It was quiet and peaceful. They had plenty of blankets for colder nights. Breakfast and service was amazing! The town has a morning market that was great for souvenirs. 

Be prepared for a very special experience here - and I mean it in a positive way! The houses are old - Some of them have been moved from other places and this is reflected in the way place is setup: Rooms are small, and you will be sleeping on a mat on the floor. Meals are served in an old room with huge beams holding the roof and you will be sitting on the floor. Staff is friendly, and everything works just fine.

The inn was very nice, and the staff was kind (though they spoke very little English). The rooms were clean and had great views. The toilet room was very tight, your knees were very close to the door. Also, you need to be comfortable with your roommate as the shower opens directly onto the room with no where to towel off or dress in between. Sleeping on the futons was a little difficult but that just takes some getting use to. The best part was that on our second night it rained and we opened our windows, very peaceful. There is limited WiFi access and only in the lobby (connecting to the hot spot created by an I phone in the lobby). The location was great for visiting the near by folk village.

I enjoyed the traditional authentic environment. The common bathroom and eating area. It's clean and well kept. Breakfast was good. I felt like being a queen feasting in the unique dinning area. The dinning area has a heating stove. Very antique. Very memorable experience. I want to return but cannot book any more. Will it be open for booking again？

Amazing experience

Tranquil visit 

This hotel has had no upkeep. The floor is sunk in parts, panels are peeling off the ceiling, and there is mould all over the place.

It was freezing! Just as cold inside the hotel (and our room) as it was outside which was about -2 degrees. It was horrible trying to sleep on the freezing cold floor. The pipes were frozen which meant we could not shower or flush the toilet.
