Good experience on the stay with the onsen

Great staff, comfortable room.  Toured a sake brewery and bought a few excellent bottles

Very clean, convenient to the JR station (5-10 minute walk).  The rooftop onsen is nice as well!  The staff is very helpful!

I like the location close to the train station and also the pier . Great sea food and very good sake 😊

The Dormy Inns have been a nice hotel chain to stay. This one was nice as well.One thing is the shower cord did not allow the head to stay in the forward postion. Other than that, nice stay.

I will be a loyal customer of Dormy Inn.  It is so affordable with a nice onsen, and the extra courtesy extended by things like the evening ramen are so nice.  I always have happy experiences at Dormy Inn.

The Dormy Inn welcomed us during the COVID crisis. The hotel was so clean, and all the staff were wonderful. The central location meant we could walk to shops and the train station.The onsen was really lovely, and the beds were very comfortable. Use of the microwave was a lifesaver for us on a budget and trying to limit social contact.

Everything was excellent except, for the first time, the breakfast was a major disappointment.  Most of the food that should have been warm was ice cold.  There were over ten omelets at room temperature. The fried potatoes were cold but the server "heated up" the potatoes and turned on the hot plate however the potatoes were still room temperature.  I could make a long list of the room temperature food that should have been HOT.The servers were not at all friendly and never greeted new guests.  The Niigata Dormy Inn breakfast and servers is totally foreign to the Dormy Inn concept.  I would again stay at the Niigata Dormy Inn but there is no way in heck I would buy their breakfast. I would got to Famima, Seven Eleven, or Lawson.

Checkin was smooth and easy, staff spoke good English and she was also able to recommend places to eat etc. Whilethe room was smaller than I anticipated but it was good value for the price partly due to the onsen and the free ramen for supper. Free coffee is only served in the morning. Big plus is the free shuttle to and from the Niigata Station. The massage service on the 10th floor was also excellent and removed the tiredness of my trip

We enjoyed the onsen  and sauna at Dormy Inn.  It is clean and have complimentary Yakult Drink and ice cream.  Hotel also have complimentary ramen at night which is much appreciated.  Room is small as with most Japanese hotels. Room is quite old and need upgrading.   It is about 15 mins walk to the Niigata Station.

Great onsen and they have such a well run operation from the smooth check-in, convenient shuttle service to and from the train station, and the staff is just professional and courteous. Everything is walkable including the port market. The free ramen was a great treat I enjoyed when I visited with my father.

Nice onsen for the MEN & a smaller one for the ladies.  Free coffee at the entrance & free ramen from 2130-2300hrs WiFi was hopelessly not connecting but after telling the reception staff about the problem he immediately gave us a router then WIFI worked perfectly within my room.  Overall was a wonderful stay.  Highly recommend

Don’t have many negatives to say about this hotel. Pleasant check in. Room nice and modern with a/c, tv and ensuite. The hotel’s facilities are very nice. The 10th floor onsen bath is amazing with city views and various bath styles including a small cave. It also has a laundry which offers a free washing machine and coin operated dryer which was much appreciated at the tail end of my holiday. Also there is free ramen at night! 11am check out is a positive too as most in Japan are 10am as standard. It’s a bit of a walk (15mins) from station but not that bad. They offer a shuttle but didn’t bother.

Great hotel

Hotel is within walkable distance from the JR station.  The room is compact but has all the amenties.  It is a bit different from the other dormy inn that it has a bath tub.  The onsen is great.  For men, it has an outdoor pool.  For ladies, it is on the 2nd floor.  The hotel provides free transport to the JR station in the morning during my stay.  At the top floor, it has a vendor machine that sells bottle of milk which I found taste excellent.  One thing I found not that convenient is that around the hotel I did not find any small cafe that serves breakfast and the closest one is at the JR station.

First time to Niigata and first time with Dormy inn. I read about the free ramen and I was expecting to be given a cup noodles but it was a fresh bowl of noodles! Walking proximity to Niigata station, nice friendly staff and clean onsen. Shuttle bus is only available after 3pm if I am not wrong. So if you have lots to carry, a taxi ride will not cost much

I would have given this hotel a higher rating but my expedia booking claimed free WIFI in public areas and in the room while my experience was the internet was almost unusable, Quite often, after being logged onto the network for a few minutes, it would drop the connection and I would have to try again, in some cases multiple tries were needed to connect. This was my experience in the room as well as the lobby.
