We chose to stay in Ainokura instead of Shirakawa-go as it is less touristy. We walked from the bus-top to the Minshuku and it was such a scenic walk. Everywhere is beautiful - from the gassho house to the golden paddy field. The whole Minshuku is lined with Tatami, even the corridor! Our room was huge for the 2 of us. There is a common bath area and toilets are shared (as in most minshuku) We could not wait to explore the whole village. We walked to every corner and climb to the lookout point. Everywhere is picturesque! For dinner, we had a very big spread of food, including grilled river fish which was very fresh. Breakfast was just as sumptuous. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Souvenir was available at the entrance. All in all, we are very delighted with our stay. Will come again in winter.
