Beautiful location overlooking the lake. Wonderful open air and indoor onsen. Traditional dining in private space.

Very comfortable ryokan with a view of Lake Shinji. An easy taxi ride from the station and an easy bus ride from all sights. Dinner and breakfast were sensational with lots of local seafood. Staff are extremely helpful. 

Stayed in the Cloud room with a private onsen in the balcony facing an awesome view of the lake. Room was clean and spacious with a generous supply of amenities. Visited the public bath as well but was nothing impressive. Beer and yakult was provided free of charge in the hotel lobby. Note that if you are traveling with young children, they change an extra ¥2500 per child just for them to be in the room, no extra beds provided and breakfast is a separate charge. Breakfast served was exquisite and in a private dining room which we appreciate. Overall nice experience but just one night is enough as the town is very quiet and the room price is very steep.

We stayed for 2 nights in this Japanese hotel, the room was large and with westers bed as our choice.Japanese dinner was excellent and we choke for a western breakfast because we dont like fish in the morning.
Free wi fi in the room and excellent service makes this hotel a real treat!

Very fine japanese hotel with Western beds as a choice

Excellent ryokan, fabulous dinner

While it was very nice restaurant in a different location. There is a lot of competition in this area for Onsen.

This is a smaller property with a nice lake view but not being able to where are yukata  to dinner was a little strange.

The meals here were great. Breakfast was served in the same location.

Even with a Japanese speaker in our group communication was a little confused. 

Facility was clean. Having stayed in  other onsen with a very natural setting and beautiful gardens this felt more like a hot tub.

Awesome popsicles offered in the onsen might have been the highlight

We stayed at Naniwa Issui for one night during our recent visit in Shimane. We had a Japanese-style room with a balcony facing the lake. The room size was small and the decor was a bit dated. The lake view was great but, on the other hand, the busy road running in-between could be quite noisy when the windows were open. We had Kaiseki dinner and breakfast in private dining room. The food was great. The Wagyu steak was tender and flavorful. The public onsens, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor, were not so impressive. Should we stay here again, we would try the "Cloud" room with private onsen as recommended by some reviewers.

Excellent service, room amenities are of 5 star western hotels ( with small size shampoo, conditioner, sewing kit, tooth brush, nails file etc) gives u 2 bath towel ( most of the time ryokan only gives u one), dining in private room with excellent tasty meals. Their pillows is one of the best I have used among ryokans. 

A less favourable point is it's public bath (大浴場). It's quite small for a big hotel ( although most rooms have their own) and water in the outdoor section of onsen (hot spring) is a bit stagnant

We stayed in one the rooms facing the lake and our only hot spring bath. It's has an amazing view, and it's most relaxing to have a soak in the evening and in he morning. There were 2 chairs and a table next to it where u can have a drink and chat. Inside the room, there is a bar table with a fridge.
