48 reviewsMy friends and I really loved it. It's about a 40 min. ride by bus from Kyoto central. Located on a Hill but the town itself was very cute and very authentic! No big city buildings and its quite and surrounded by nature. (At least on the day we arrived. We only stayed a night, too.) The people living there seem to be very welcoming and interested. The ryokan itself seemed just a bit outdated but its fine!! barely noticable. Staff was welcoming but had only one person speaking english. We had a Tatami room right next to a beautiful garden. They had 3 different Onsens. It was rather small. But we were lucky since we had it all by ourself. The food was very delicious. I also need to mention, that I forgot to leave a note that I'm vegetarian. And they usually need to prepare the food beforehand. I guess it was a bit difficult since they did not had the right ingredients for a vegetarian meal. So they try their best to make my meal as veggy as possible. VERY HELPFUL! For Dinner we had multiple small courses. And breakfast was only one course with different tappas. But super good. It was overall a nice experience and i would totally recommend it!
