Kumihama Onsen Yumotokan

The indoor bath is extremely hot even for Japanese baths, and I couldn’t really use it because of that, but the outdoor bath was more comfortable (still plenty hot!) and absolutely gorgeous with some of the clearest onsen water I’ve ever seen. The room was nice, very clean but with noticeable wear and tear in the bathroom, and the pillows were very hard. Breakfast felt pretty extravagant with a large selection of traditional Japanese dishes, but might not be to the taste of people unused to a variety of seaweed and other dishes not often seen in western cuisine. All in all, a very pleasant stay (exceptional bath!) and extremely reasonable price!
