La Mirador

We were greeted at the hotel by Madam and shown to our room, what an excellent and welcoming host. When we opened the door to our room it was like a step back in time with curtained off area between the bedroom and bathroom the antique decor added to the feeling for us this was a romantic break for seclusion and it really ticked all the boxes. This is not a hotel for those who do not enjoy an individual experience but it is a most amazing chance to step back to a time of individual attention and you could almost be on the set of a Audrey Hepburn Movie. We totally loved the position of the hotel overlooking the sea, with Buzzards circling overhead as we walked down to the local fishing harbour, Muntjac deer crossing our path and crying to each other warning of our approach. We spotted a pygmy woodpecker, many butterflies and birds. When we got back Madam had reserved the Onsen for us privately which was out of this world. To finish it all off Madam entertained us in our own private dining experience with a gourmet 3 course meal she had prepared (she studies cuisine in France and visits annually) a perfect end to a beautiful day. We decided to get up early on the next morning and go down to watch the fishermen leave and the sunrise before returning for a hearty breakfast. We visited Seichoji Temple this was for me the best temple we visited as it was tranquil and respectful quiet visitors I think we were the only Europeans there. We had a walk on the sandy beach with waves crashing and went back to the hotel where Madam had managed to get us Lobsters for our evening meal. Truly Heavenly experience. They have western and Japanese rooms.
