Toyoko Inn Ichinoseki Ekimae

I loved the breakfast. It was the best breakfast  i have ever had in Japan.

It was a very comfortable room and the check in process was simple.

Ichinoseki is a town where you need to use a train or bus to see the sights. This hotel is really well located for those needs. Staff were friendly. The breakfast was good. There is a nearby supermarket and convenience store and restaurants right next door. There is a laundry in the lobby, quite cheap but it can be busy.

Great base for Hiraizumi, the bus for Chuonji departs from in front of the statioin, and you can see the hotel from the bus stop. My room was a typical compact business hotel room, clean, quiet. The provided breakfast is laid out in the lobby to help yourself, Japanese style breakfast, completely fine. The location is walkable to see the sights of Ichonoseki (I was given a map and recommended route by the very helpful tourist information office in front of the station west gate).  My only issue was finding somewhere to eat, there are a few restaurants around the station area but the family one I enjoyed on a Monday night was shut on a Tuesday night and I didn't see anything else that appealed).  Hiraizumi is a lovely town but not much there, only one soba restaurant was open for lunch in front of the station, so I'm glad I didn't stay there.  It only took me about four hours to leisurely go around the UNESCO sites (didn't visit the mountain), taxi out to the cave shrine, walked to the World Heritage enter.

Location is good, less than 5 mins walk to the JR station. There is a good ramen shop downstairs. Free breakfast and all basic amenities are provided. The only thing that I don’t like is there is quite a high step between the room and washroom, might cause some small accidents if you are careless. Also the check in time is 4pm which is quite late comparing with other hotels. But overall I am very happy with the stay.

Service oriented reception. Very friendly and also like the breakfast staff who manage it. Felt welcome. Hotel seems to be new, everything is clean and tidy. Very near to the train station.

Good service and transportation. Reasonable price and free breakfast.Have everything in the room and couldn't be better.

It's a bit hard to add anything to my previous reviews of other Toyoko Inns I've stayed at.

They're comfortable, within a 5 minute walk of a station, reasonably priced, have good facilities, WiFi and a hearty breakfast.

Most of the desk staff I have dealt with speak some English - maybe not a lot, but enough to deal with checking in (and out) and basic navigation / directions.

A stone's throw from the station - like most Toyoko Inn locations

A great location.  Great service, very comfortable clean businessmen’s hotel with smallish but efficient rooms.  Japanese breakfast which is mostly veggies is included.  Don’t forget to opt for the ECO-plan for multi-night stays.  They won’t enter your room so you can leave the room messy as you go out touring, etc; you’ll use your sheets over.  They’ll leave a bag of fresh towels and bathmat daily.  Free WIFI in rooms.

2-minute walk from train station

The Toyoko Inn was very convenient as a stopping point from Hiraizumi. The Inn is on the west side of the train station, with only about a 5 minute walk. It was super convenient with the ability to do coin laundry on the first floor. Robes were also available in a UV-lit cabinet. A basic Japanese breakfast was also included, which made the hotel stay a really good deal. Customer service was great with staff being friendly and helpful despite my poor Japanese language skills.

We had a Western room with 2 twin beds, which was on the small size, but was very clean and included house slippers. The bathroom was similarly tiny, but very clean.  Would recommend staying here again, and also would recommend a cheap eat at the nearby train station's tachigui (udon stand). I had the best tororo udon for only $3.60, and an amazing miso konyakku!!!

Good deal, clean and close to the train station

I think opening of the Shinkansen station made the west side of ichinoseki less favorable. It is not a fault of the hotel, but it is a disadvantage.
