An unforgettable and amazing experience during a trip to Japan.
The hotel is large and offers great services.
The staff is extremely kind and helpful — not everyone speaks fluent English, but communication is easy with a translator.
The hotel even offers free ping pong tables for guests to enjoy.

The rooms are exceptional, designed in a traditional Japanese style where you can experience sleeping on futons and walking around in the kimono provided by the hotel.
The onsen baths are beautiful, with hot water at 40°C. The public ones are divided into indoor and outdoor sections, while the private ones come in three different styles to choose from.

Both breakfast and dinner are excellent.
Breakfast offers a wide variety of options, while dinner includes many dishes in true Japanese style.

Definitely an experience worth having.
I will absolutely go back.

Amazing! The hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful. I love that we can play pong ping ball there and the private hot spring is very good. It is just 3000¥ for an hour. The room is spacious and clean. Free parking. Would love to visit again.

We got a Japanese style room, and the experience was great. The staff prepared our beds while we were having dinner and when we returned to our room, everything was setup for a good rest. Breakfast were great and delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. 


Set in the rural Hakone town, sitting next to the beautiful stream. The hotel offer relaxation and lovely service from all the staff. Spacious onsen or if preferred can opt for a private onsen at cost.

露天風呂の貸切が3000円/時で出来、それがとても楽しくゆっくりできる温泉旅行を体現してくれました！スタッフもとても優しく、気が利いていて最高のもてなしでした。
一階にある卓球台も30分間利用しましたが無料でしたので、ぜひお風呂上がりなどにするといいと思います。
ダイニングでの夕食も盛りだくさんで、味もとても満足でした。
利用はしませんでしたが、朝は数本無料で箱根湯本駅までの無料シャトルバスがあるので、利用するといいと思います。
It was a very good deal to stay at this Ryokan( Japanese-style hotel) . With only 3000¥ in addition , you can use a room of private Onsen for 1hour, which was really satisfying, comfortable and relaxing. You should ask about it when you check in. 
You can also enjoy Japanese style dinner .
The room is also comfortable and I recommend to choose Japanese style room so that you can feel how Japanese people in the past era enjoyed their Onsen trip , a kind of a vacation trip.
If you have a great amount of luggage, you should use Free Shuttle Bus bound for Hakone Yumoto Station , leaving the hotel every 30mins ( only )in the morning.

Stayed just a night in the Japanese styled room overlooking the river. Very nice modern hotel. Nice location slightly away from the town center but the walk is indeed pretty. 
We got a large room on the 3rd floor. We booked a private Onsen for after dinner. For the private Onsen experience I feel ¥3000 was too expensive. The water was way too hot and it was pretty small. I also tried the public Onsens, which I found to be much better - Temperature was ok and they were prettier. Glad that I only booked the private Onsen once instead of my original plan of booking for each day. 
Both meals were served in their restaurant.. Dinner was delicious but I was really happy with the breakfast. It was buffet style but great choices. 
Even though it is not located along the bus route but you can catch the ¥100 shuttle into the town center if it is after their last shuttle hour of 10:30am.

The room was excellent comprising an entrance hall, bedroom sitting room, bathroom and separate toilet. The only issue I had was the height of the doorway. They were only a lost 1.75 m, so I had a lot of ducking to do. The dinner and breakfast were excellent. We also had a private Onsen which was excellent with an open window view to the adjacent hillside. Happily stay again.

I stayed at the Hakone Pax Yoshino with my mum as part of a trip to Japan. This hotel was beautiful! It offered an authentic Japanese experience without having to sacrifice for luxury. They offer a beautiful dinner and breakfast, in addition to a soak in an Onsen. The hotel were very accomodating and picked us up and dropped us off st the train station so we didn’t have to carry our bags. Would recommend to anyone staying in the Hakone area!

We were visiting Hakone national park and were staying one night in this hotel. We got a taxi from the station and glad we did it’s quite hidden and the name of the hotel isn’t that visible. It is quite a modern serene hotel, very relaxing. We stayed in a Japanese style room and wasn’t disappointed. We had an end room with a side view of the river and hills as well. You can dress up in Japanese style clothing and have a walk round. The hotel is situated in a lovely area just off the main street. Included was a Japanese evening meal which was presented beautifully, but it just isn’t my type of food but still a great experience to try. Breakfast was good and we had a lovely relaxing stay.

The rooms definitely felt a bit aged. The toilet was in the front of the room and you had to go to the back of the room to wash your hands, which was strange. This resort is also a bit farther than the other resorts from the train station. Otherwise, the facilities were great. We loved the option of a private hot spring room with a beautiful view then you can lounge in the lounge room afterwards. The kids area in the lounge room was not impressive; it’s basically a bunch of kid pillows but it allows the parents to lounge and rest while they play within the area. The kaiseki dinner set was a great experience. We wouldn’t be able to get it anywhere else. We liked how they had a kid set option (with more westernized food) and a kid room where the kids can play or watch TV while we ate. There were lots of food options for breakfast. We also liked the free popsicles/drinks/coffee in the lobby area.

Great experience but the rooms are a little dated

Perfect Japanese experience

Having read some of the previous reviews we had some reservations about staying here but we needn’t have worried. The front desk staff were very friendly and efficient. The hotel has a mixture of western and Japanese style rooms and it is clear when booking which option you have selected. Accordingly I am amazed at some of the comments made in previous reviews regarding the use of futon style beds etc in some rooms!  We opted for a traditional room and found it to be both spacious and comfortable. Whilst the shower and toilet were both fine they were looking a bit tired and in need of some modernisation. Our package came with evening meal included which was pretty good offering a 7/8 course selection of Japanese foods. Particular mention here to our waiter Yuki Tachibana who was especially helpful and welcoming - "Go .Urawa RedDiamonds”! Breakfast was mixture of Japanese and western foods with fair range of both on offer.

Good but some modernisation needed in quest roooms

Amazing staff. 

We came here as part of a 2 week tour of Japan to experience traditional type rooms and dining.  We were given a large room with a small wooden tub.  I think our travel agent had severely miscommunicated what a private onsen would be, so we were a little underwhelmed.  However, the staff at the front desk especially the manager were exceptional in trying their best to help.   It all gets quite frustrating with language barriers yet they really did want to ensure we had the best stay.   We used the private onsen as we didn’t feel comfortable using the public one.  This was amazing and my skin has never felt so good.  And much needed after days of sight seeing.

Food wasn’t to my taste as I don’t eat fish, my daughter on the other hand was in heaven with the beautifully presented food.  Please ensure you let the hotel know before hand if you have any food allergies as they will do their best to help.

Two ladies came to set up our beds and also helped and talked us through wearing the yukata.  (Dressing is not part of their service, we were lucky to have such helpful staff arrive)

The main manager on the desk (we stayed 3/7/23) was the shining star for us.  He was so helpful he made me cry happy tears.   Thank you for a lovely stay.

The best manager !

Situated around a 10-15 minute walk from the train station the hotel is easy to get to. The staff were friendly and there was bag storage for those arriving before check in. The room was pretty cool more traditional Japanese than our Tokyo hotel. We had dinner included which wasn't to our taste but we are quite fussy! The highlight though was hiring the private onsen for an hour this cost 3300 Yen around £21 well worth the money!

We spent one night at the hotel and really enjoyed ourselves.  Check-in was easy and even though we arrived early, they held our luggage for us so we could go explore the area.  We stayed in a traditional room (yes we slept on the floor which was quite comfortable) which was fun experience.  You are provided with kimonos to where (they have other sizes available at the front desk) which we wore to dinner and to the Onsen.  We had a private room for dinner and really enjoyed having our meal prepared in front of us - fun experience.  We also took advantage of the onsen.  They gave clear instructions on the protocol which was nice, especially this was our first time experiencing communal bathing.  It is optional, so if you aren't comfortable with the idea you have a private shower in your room.

The staff was really helpful and even helped us send our luggage to our hotel in Kyoto (a great thing to do if you are traveling by train).  We would definitely recommend staying here.

Great stay for traditional Japanese feel

Modern ryokan by beautiful clear river

We started at this hotel for 1 night as part of our trip around Japan. The hotel is in a good location, easy access to restaurants and the hotel and also has a car park. 
The rooms are very spacious for Japanese standards and comfortable. The staff are very friendly. There are table tennis tables available for a small fee and a karaoke area too.
Overall it's very nice and I would recommend however the whole hotel could do with an upgrade as it is slightly dated
