We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children (15 years, 10 years, 10 years). We really enjoyed making this small stopover at Yugiriso. On the reservation, we had a meal with 12 dishes taken on the table = 60 dishes taken on the table (4 days Tokyo, 1 day Disneysea, 1 day at Kamakura Sea, 2 days Hakone, 1 day walk to Magome in the Alps, 1 day at Lake Biwa, 3 nights at Kyoto). The Yugiriso crossing was our typical ryokan stop and we were very satisfied. On the reservation, we had a meal with 12 dishes taken on the table = 60 dishes taken on the table = 5 days. But when we saw Yugiriso we took a very nice and very nice dinner, we were sleeping on tatami tables: it was also a typical family lunch at Hakone, we were not really happy to see it (so we hadn't seen it at the time), so we didn't have a problem, but we did not have a real problem, but we did not have a chance to go there, so we had to make the trip with the Japanese

We stayed here one night as part of our tour of Japan. It is easy to find from Lake Ashi and bus stops are close by - just be aware that it takes about an hour on the bus to get back to Hakone train station, so we had to get the bus at 8.20am to guarantee that we could catch our Shinkansen at 10am, not ideal! 
The building itself is modern but the rooms are traditional in style, although with modern bathrooms and tv, etc. It's certainly a different experience, and the staff were really friendly and helpful! I'm glad that we were only staying one night, though, as being Westerners totally unused to this style of furniture we found both sitting and sleeping quite uncomfortable, even though the futon mattresses were pretty thick.
Dinner and breakfast were both served in our room, and were traditional Japanese multi-dish meals - fish, rice, vegetables, miso soup etc - beautifully presented, and the ladies who served us explained what we were eating. My lactose intolerance was very carefully catered for. 
I would stay here again, but only for one night, because I don't think my back would cope with any longer.

Ryokan experience!

We spent two nights in this ryokan and we discourage it. Breakfast is served either at 8am or 8:30am. With the time lag, it's impossible to rest. There's a lot of noise in the parking lot by 6am. All the equipment is outdated. The bathroom is dirty. The upholstery falls off and is stained. There are moulds in the onsen. The furniture is scaled. At this price, we felt blurred. The only positive points: the kindness of the staff and the location.

Very disappointing.

On tour in Japan we stay in this ryokan chosen by our travel agency. The structure is spacious and not far from the lake; the room is nice but a little dated, clean and orderly, the typical clothes are provided and you sleep on the futon. The staff are kind and courteous, but not all speak English, it is recommended to interact with the younger ones. The kitchen is high level, you eat very well both for dinner and breakfast, but some flavors are strong and may not be pleasant.

First experience in Ryokan

We spent 3 days in this Ryokan near the lake in a simple and very pleasant style, personal with little care and every day new nice kimonos are put at your disposal. The day is organized around the local rhythm: breakfast at 8:30 and dinner at 6:30 in the room. Attention to Japanese breakfast you must be able to start the day with fish, in the evening the dinner is magical the table is set up around 6:00 this is a festival of colors and flavors. The night is very comfortable on the futons set up after dinner. You can especially enjoy the Osen from 15:00 to 9:30 a must-see experience.

A magical experience

I didn't like much of this establishment. The location is not bad because it's not very far from the lake, but it's 1 hour by bus from Odawara station! Very uncomfortable for the very high price of a night's sleep which is almost 130 euros to sleep on tatamis! No wifi in the rooms! Only at the reception! Supplemental breakfast around 10 euros, not extraordinary and only between 8 and 8:30!!!! I really would have served a breakfast much earlier, from 7 pm paf for example.

Very disappointing and very expensive school!!!

We spent one night in this ryokan. It was a nice experience in the purest of Japanese traditions. We were welcomed with matcha tea and a little sweetness. Dinner served at 6pm in the room, great! Then installation of the futons on which we slept divinely well. Lunch served in a common room, no bread or coffee, only Japanese. We had a small private bathroom with toilet. The ryokan is located near the lake, there is not much around. One small fault, it is a little aging and would need a little refreshment. Otherwise the staff is very friendly despite the language barrier.

It was a good experience

location-wise, this was great for touring Lake Ashi.  the Hakone Pirate Ship wharf was a stroll away.  but most shops other than a local grocer close by night-time.  we max-ed our Hakone Freepass for the bus ride to raid/hunt for dinner

this is going to be fun!

Quiet, great location across the street from lake, great access the sightseeing boat taking you to the Hakone ropeway to see Mt. Fuji and the floating red Tori.  This was lovely!  Also, really nice to walk by the lake, to nearby shrine.  Cleam, comfortable rooms in traditional ryokan style.  Nice onsen.It's all about expectations - We'd thought we were going to have easy access from Tokyo to main Hakone.  Turns out this is in Hakone-machi, a village town which was extra hour on bus from Osawara train station.  Not much in terms of restaurants or other stuff except geared for day tourists on tour buses from Tokyo.  But we went in winter, not necessarily peak season.

This ryokan is excellent, the head of the establishment speaks English fluently and explains everything we can do well. Tea ceremony included, lottery meals and breakfast not included. There is a beautiful Onsen (male and female separate) in the premises. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. Watch out for restaurants in the evening in the corner, many are closed, however there are still restaurants open in the hotel complex facing the Ryokan.
