TOP Resort Hakone Onsen Goku no Yado

Spent 1 night at this hotel with my family of 4 (2 kids, 2 adults). This is an affordable option for the Hakone area and was centrally located for our 2 day - 1 night stay. They also organized dinner reservations and transport to an excellent Yakiniku restaurant. Was very happy. Onsen - inside and outside - also a plus. Breakfast was Japanese buffet but there was toast, yoghurt, and some eggs so all happy if they didn't want to eat Japanese style. Very clean. Good Ryokan. Rooms were tatami mats w/ futon beds. We've had this style before. One negative is that the futon beds were really thin. Room was large enough for 4 of us - not huge but it worked fine. Nice Japanese styled bathroom facilities in the room. Good wifi. Good electrical outlets. I have lived in Japan for 2 years, so you understand any potential biases. This was a good option for Hakone and affordable - not cheap, but Hakone is in high demand and we were there over a Japanese holiday. Thanks to the hotel for a pleasant stay and excellent service
