My group of four rented two rooms here for two nights in between the Tokyo and Kyoto legs of our trips in November 2019. This is obviously an older establishment and its age shows but serves to add to the rustic, traditional feel of the place. The owner was very nice and friendly. A traditional breakfast can be provided for about $10 (USD) per person and there are vending machines for a quick meal (which can come in handy if you arrive late as surrounding businesses close very early). Yukatas and slippers are provided to the guests free of charge, and the bedding is of course a futon typical for this sort of establishment. Though it was mostly rainy and foggy while we were there, the views were nonetheless gorgeous, especially as the autumn leaves were still in full effect. A wide (but private) window allowed you take in the foliage while enjoying a soak in the onsen. 

I don't know how many other guests were present during our stay, but it was overall a very quiet experience. 

This establishment is conveniently located less than a five minute walk to Naka Gora station.

The owner, I believe, prefers payment in cash but is able to take credit cards. 

Over all, our stay here was enjoyable and memorable, and I would definitely considering returning should I ever get the opportunity to explore Hakone again.

Great value for traditional ryokan experience

I stayed here during new year period. 
This hotel is good location( walk only 2 mins from Naka gora station) But during my time the station in renovate because  typhoon so i need to walk  to hotel from Gora Station.  I saw information on the board,  train will open again within 3or 4 months.)
 If I have trip to visit Hakone, I will choose  this hotel and I hope that time the railway is open. 

About food this hotel have vending machine to sale food and drink so dont worry about it. 

All of service I recommend this hotel.

good services and good onzen

We stayed here for three nights and really enjoyed the experience. The location is very convenient to get around the popular sights in Hakone. The breakfast and dinner were well-prepared. The bathroom and toilet are communal but you will get used to it! It is excellent value for money given the location and service. The facilities are a bit old but it is perfectly fine for short stays.

Lovely traditional inn

Absolutely lovely little place and the owners are so accomodating - the bedding and room were clean and they offered unlimited free ice cream and games in the lobby. Stunning views from the top floor in the morning and a breakfast prepared with utmost care make this well worth the asking price.

Great for the price and location!

Run by friendly and caring owners who were welcoming and cheerful.
The included breakfast was delicious, traditional and wholesome; with drink facilities in the rooms and additional vending machines. It was lovely to open the doors to see the mountain view whilst drinking tea in the room.
The facilities were clean, and as other reviews have said they may benefit from being renovated, but as it is the place is charming and has a real sense of a family-run business.

Wonderful staff and food

Although the premises are simple and free of frost, there are all the amenities as in the morning. A surprising breakfast (for us Europeans of course). The onsen on the premises is very appreciated.

Typical stay

The owners are very sweet and the food is awesome! It could be renovated but it is very clean. There are lots of little extra that make your stay pleasant. It's like a traditional ryokan, but they don't call themselves that. They have two onsen, one for men one for women, which are very hot and relaxing. And they serve a traditional japanese breakfast and dinner. We were amazed by the taste and variety. 
And if you want to get the japanese sleeping experience, it's definitely the right place.

Delicious food and hot onsen!

The place is fantastic, very quiet, and the owner is a very generous person. I found myself very nice and very close to the train and it's very easy to get around.

This place is a scam, it is very old and dirty, and how the describe it in booking iternaries doesn’t match with the actual situation. There are no normal showers, only communal in the onsen. The hygiene level is very bad.

Scam

We spent two nights in this ryokan as a family with two teenagers in a very simple way, and the batting would certainly deserve a few renovations, but it is clean, well located near the Gora funicular, offers excellent meals, a good welcome and it is clean.
