Guest House Hagi Akatsukiya

We arrived in Hagi by bicycle in very bad weather and finding Akatsukiya was a blessing. It is a small hostel with comfortable bunk beds in dorms but it feels more like a traditional ryokan the way it is designed. There is a nice sitting room and a well equipped kitchen for guests to use, a small garden, free fast WiFi, a decent shared bathroom, washing machine and everything is very clean. The man in charge is friendly and speaks some English and is well travelled so understands what visitors want. It is also a bargain for Japan, at 2400-2600 Yen per person, per night. Close to the beach and the old part of town. Highly recommended.
