Writing this review a year later, the memory of Machiyado has stayed with me. Aside from the absolutely beautiful town, the people who live in Gujo was what I loved most, Seiko san being at the top of the list. After hearing that I had gone to Japan alone and was feeling a tad homesick, Seiko san made sure that my stay was nothing but perfect. She took me out to eat, introduced me to her friends, walked with me around town, cooked me a farewell dinner, and even drove me to the train station. After hearing how much I loved onsen, she drove me to the hot springs and we had a lovely outing together. She even arranged a bike tour for me with one of her friends. I will certainly be visiting Gujo again simply for the joy of Machiyado.
