23 reviewsHotel was centrally located near the Kanawa Bus Station/Hells Pools/food steam restaurant. 10min walk from the bus station. The hotel was clean & has an onsen! Tatami rooms w/a kitchen, tiny bathroom (ship size). It is an older hotel, but it was perfect for us. The young man running the hotel was so nice and pleasant. We had a slight translation issue but used our google translate. Perfect area and close to the main sights. 20 min to JR Beppu station by bus from the Kanawa Bus Station. We arrived at the Beppudaigaku Station (walk across the street to get the local bus to Kanawa bus station 15min ride). The hotel is older but was perfect to experience a real ryokan (tatami floor & futons). Sauna & onsen on 1st floor. 7-11 across from Kanawa bus stop. This hotel is not in the city center of Beppu, but in the outskirts. But walkable to the sights. Take a bus to Yufuin-50 min from Kanawa station. Rate is super reasonable (we stayed 4 nights). I chose this location becuz I wanted to be near the Hells pools. Excellent location, rate, clean...perfect for us and we have stayed at the Tokyo Station hotel, so we know what the difference is and was perfectly satisfied with this property.
