You will bond with the staff and the food is delicious. Egg boy was the best; knew about the places we lived and made breakfast fun and enjoyable. The shows were fun too and the water park was a blast.

I know its been a while since we went there Jan 2020 but i was looking at reviews on other places and was like i should review Jewel.
The bus drive was lengthy but you cant fault the resort in that way.
The resort was spacious and had plenty to offer with play rooms and food options.  The one night the buffet was done in the court yard which was different but interesting.  I did enjoy the hibachi restaurant which i ended up doing twice but i had never gone before so it could skew my experience.  Again you are in the caribean and these experiences you shouldnt compare to the ones you would usually get back home if you want some grand experience go to Vegas or something.
The pools were nice, the larger deeper pool felt colder than the one overlooking the beach.  The waterpark looked fun but didnt enjoy as much since my daughter was still quite young and weary of things.  
The staff seemed quite friendly all around and i couldnt say they were rude ever  (remember if your rude or have some expections of acting superior youll get a ruder response treat everyone with respect and dont look for a fight just cuz)
I enjoyed this trip alot and for a first time in Jamaica I was a great experience.

I traveled to Jamaica with my best friend. We stayed at the Jewel for 14 nights from 22nd Dec 21 - 5th Jan 22. 
So lets start with the highlights of our stay.  The staff at this hotel are lovely. They are kind and very helpful. The room was spacious and cleaned daily. Fresh towels were provided on a daily basis. There are choices of restaurants to dine at during your stay and there is a great little place on the beach that does jerk pork at chicken at lunch time. There is also a Grill bar which offers cheeseburgers, fries, wraps, salads and nachos. This is open till 2am in the morning. On the beech you are provided with Kayaks, body boards, pedalos and  free glass bottom boat trips and other trips. These are all included with your all inclusive package. There are great shows at night, but due to Covid19 the nightclub was closed. There is a great spot on the beach where you can get smoothies made with fresh fruit. These were very tasty. The bar offers all of your expected brands of spirits and a great choice of cocktails.  The hotel has lots of hand sanitizers and they are doing a great job at keeping their guests safe. The gym is located down by the beach and is open 24/7. There are tennis courts which are also open 24/7. There is a little gift shop onsite and you can play pool or ping pong. There is also a water slide and lots of little hidden jacuzzies dotted about the complex. There is a lovely coffee shop on site which offers lots of varieties of coffees and they are all wonderful quality and again part of your all inclusive package.

Downsides: The beach is man made and the sand is not white like most beaches I have been to in the Caribbean.  The sea is cornered off so the water only comes up to your chest. Not great if you like to swim. The breakfast buffet was disgusting and needs attention. We had to live on eggs on toast as the bacon was cold and burned and all other foods on offer  were of a poor quality. The staff at breakfast are attentive when you first arrive, but this only lasts if you continuously tip. I have a rule that I only tip on the 2nd week, this gives me time to establish the quality of the persons service before making tips. I think if they can sort out the breakfast then this hotel is pretty much perfect. The grounds are maintained beautifully and the staff are lovely. I would not hesitate to go back to this hotel and would recommend it to friends.  The Asian restaurant, Jamaican restaurant, Italian restaurant are all worth a visit. There are lots of choices of foods throughout the day and plenty of spaces to book into them. There are always lots of sun beds available and two main pools which always have space to sit by. They both have swim up pool bars and the staff are great. This hotel will not let you down. Don't take any notice of the moaning minis that write poor reviews about this hotel because they are wrong. My only piece of advice for the hotel would be to offer a full English breakfast option and ensure this is kept hot. But that's simply a personal preference and you as a guest may enjoy the foods on offer at breakfast time. So if you have booked your stay here, get on that plane and enjoy it. I had two weeks of pure relaxation and bliss.  Thank you for reading this review and if you have any questions simply ask.

This resort is truly a hidden gem of Runaway Bay. The layout of the resort was awesome. The food at each and every restaurant and snack bar was excellent. The hotel has a very good assortment of premium liquor collection.

The hotel staff was amazing...everyone we came in contact with was so nice and courteous. Housekeeping and room service was just a phone call away.

Shout out to Concierge Melissa, Bellman Rayvaugh, TJ, Kerisha at Surfside Bar, and funny man Blackie Chan.

Wife and I visited the first week of April, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves just relaxing on the beaches. We found out quickly that it was the "winter" of the Caribbean, but that didn't stop the fun. The ocean was rough all week so we couldn't take advantage of all the water activities. We did do the glass bottom boat ride and the booze cruise snorkeling. Metro was a wonderful captain and a great host. I highly recommend both activities!

The food was good. Even with Covid we were able to try all the restaurants, just make sure that you make reservations soon as you arrive! If you're expecting fine dining at its finest, this may not be for you. If, however, you enjoy good quality food, you won't be disappointed. They had a good variety of American and Caribbean cuisine. I was a bit disappointed in the lack of seafood choices, but when I mentioned to Christa our butler age arranged an oceanside grilled shrimp for us!!!  As stated in other reviews the pizza is very good. I loved the fresh grouper from Platinum and absolutely savored the Lamb from Moonstone. The Aquamarina  Barv and Grill was an awesome spot for drinks and good American food. The tuna wraps were delicious!  It was a little out of the way which was nice because it wasn't as busy or crowded. There was always an open seat at the swim up bar. Jade Samurai was a very entertaining dining event. Be sure to find which days they are open and get a reservation. The buffet was decent for a buffet. 

The resort itself was extremely clean and organized. They had plentiful hand sanitizing places. As stated in other reviews, the staff was very friendly, helpful, and pleasant. We felt like family, they did all they could to help us relax and enjoy our vacation. The room was very clean with a nice view of the ocean. We stayed in the Junior Butler Suite.

The staff was my favorite part of the experience. I want to give a huge shout out to the following staff:

Christa our butler was PHENOMENAL!!! She was extremely helpful and friendly. She checked in throughout the day making sure that we were satisfied and taking care of. She definitely made our stay much more enjoyable. Thank you Christa!!!

Seandepaul was our waiter and both Platinum and Moonstone. He was very friendly and even took time to talk and make a personal connection.

Maxwell was a humorous and knowledgeable driver that took us into Ocho Rios for for shopping. On the way back we were the only ones on the bus so he let us sit up front and took us through downtown St. Anns for a little tour.

To wrap it up, Jewel is a very good middle of the road all inclusive resort.

My stay was great, the food was great, the grounds and ambiance was perfect, not to mention their nightly entertainment. Special thanks to the staff, especially Priscilla from concierge and Kerisha at the bar my stay was great. I'm looking to another there again soon.

Janice the bar tender was wonderful!!! She was so inviting and sweet, the absolute best!!! Try the bartender special if you like rum like I do. Every one was so nice and helpful. It is a very nice resort despite the coronavirus certain things are limited but worth it....

The food provided at Jewels is really amazing, it will have you eating alot. I really love the food at jewels its finger licking good like mouth watering good, like make your taste buds go wild. You should try staying a jewels it will be worth your time.

Visited last month with my fiance and we had a blast. Customer service was phenomenal and we were also specially taken care of by Ms. Oksanna, as we were celebrating our engagement.  The water park was incredible, had loads of fun riding the slides. They also had  games throughout the day, just so the guests can have fun and also win prizes. The food was great, from the buffet to the outside grill. My fiance and I,we really enjoyed our stay and we will be back for our honeymoon. Keep doing a good job guys.👉

I went with my family and we absolutely loved it. Excellent service, excellent food, excellent customer service and the rooms were great. The kids absolutely loved the waterpark, it was hard to get them to leave. I would recommend this resort to anyone who has kids. The water park makes a world of a difference for their experience and enjoyment.

Hidden gem of Runaway Bay!!!

Excellent choice for a relaxing getaway!

Went February 2020 as a HS Graduation celebration for my daughter and my 50th Birthday!! Went with a bunch of friends and had an awesome time!

The Breakfast buffet was by far the best meal of the day. Filled with Everything imaginable! There is a smoothie station that has the freshest fruit and delicious smoothies. A great way to start your morning. The servers were always accommodating to refill coffee, water juice and did it with a smile. They work so hard and really make a positive impact on our stay There are other restaurants on the property, but the buffet was filled with options, ad the view is spectacular. You can sit and look at that gorgeous aqua water while enjoying your meal.

The room was nice, clean and did the trick. When you stay at a resort you are not spending time in the room, so as long as it has a nice clean area, with a good AC and a view then that good for us!

The activities were great and the drinks were even better. They didnt water down drinks and were generous if you asked for more RUM or alcohol! The massage spa area was clean and the massage was AMAZING!

The worst part was the gym.. Not clean, hard to find windex or paper towels to clean the equipment. Also, no towels to be found. I complained a few times to front desk and nothing changed.. that is my only complaint.. So instead of the treadmill, I ran on the beach! Getting towels for the day was challenging as well

Overall, if you like all inclusive on a gorgeous beach this is for you. 
Plenty to do, eat and drink!

Gorgeous Beach and afforable all inclusive vacation

I am a 56 year old woman and stayed 8 nights at the Jewel Runaway Bay with my 23- year-old-daughter. I've stayed all over Jamaica at every sort of property and can honestly say this is the BEST FAMILY RESORT, even topping that Beachy place in Negril. We were there the week COID hit and can attest they were doing some social distancing and disinfecting a full month before the U.S. We upgraded to a room with plunge pool and it was so worth it, though not recommended if you are bringing babies. The staff at this Jewel are positively amazing, from the spa to bartenders, restaurant staff, activities, conceirge, you name it! THIS is where I'd want to be if I was traveling with little ones as the kids program was active indoors and out, and impressive. They even had a tween game room..a hard group to please. I am VERY picky about dining and typically dislike AI's because the buffets are so boring and what New Yorker wants to eat at an Italian, Chinese or Steak House in Jamaica?  I found plenty of real Jamaican food (plus lots of other things) at the buffet which were yummy, quite different than food at supposedly higher end AI's.   My young adult daughter and I had a great time but this Jewel is geared toward families. I met 3 other adult women my age and they checked out for a different Jewel the next day. There were no adults only pools and most adults were couples (older) or families with kids. Its not a place for singles of any adult age, though my daughter managed to find friends as only a beautiful 23 year old can in paradise. We heard the beach was much better here than at Jewel Paradise Cove and Jewel Runaway Bay is great enough not to pack up and schlepp to Ocho Rios when the beach, staff, rooms and everything else was perfect! My daughter's birthday fell on the Sat. night before we left and I was able to buy a well-priced birthday package filled with surprises all day....Flower, balloons, champagne, music, the works. EVERYONE was wishing her a happy birthday or singing to her ALL DAY AND NIGHT!  The staff makes this place fabulous! I wouldn't honeymoon there unless I had a bunch of kids with me, nor would I go with other middle aged women friends but one day I'll be a Grandma and I'll b e back first chance we get!I gave the Jewel Runaway Bay 4 stars and not 5 only because it is not a luxury resort. Its a really great family resort but not 5 star Upscale Luxury, which really is perfect for a family resort!

Mom and Adult Daughter Trip-PERFECT FAMILY RESORT

My wife, year-old daughter, and parented-in-law spent a week at the Jewel in January and enjoyed our stay. Our daughter was a little young to fully enjoy the experience and water park but one of our highlights came at a dinner at the Jade Samurai. 

Our Chef, Chef Crazy, was personable friendly and very engaging with our daughter. All this while providing tasty food and a good show.

My wife and i stayed at the Fun and exciting Jewel Runaway Bay in March, 2020 for our Anniversary.
We had a wonderful time and was well taken care of by the staff from Concierge,water park and the dining Area.
The food was good, and we Met the food and beverage Manager Mr. Rosario who took good care of us on the evening of our Anniversary, got us into the restaurant we wanted.

We even met the very pleasant sales Manager Ms Rhoden and Rooms Control Manager Ms.Ritchie.

They all help us feel very welcome and at home and gave us a memorable experience. 

I am definitely recommending this property because i enjoyed it which was my 6th visit.
