This charming Victorian hotel was built in !881. Queen Elizabeth stayed here twice. It is on Titchfield Hill and has a view of the bay. If you are a fussy tourist that wants a generic chain hotel that looks like anyplace in the world, you will be disappointed. If you are a traveller that prefers unique charm, history, and the feel of old movies, this is your hotel. The rooms are colorful, the linen is tropical, the furniture is vintage. The shared bathroom had old fixtures. Fewer and fewer historic hotels survive. They get 'updated' and ruined. This is one of my two favorite Jamaican hotels.
