By the Sea Vacation Home and Villa

I enjoyed a lovely and much needed break in this haven of peace! The room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and a very much needed mosquito net! The toiletries were ample and good quality (unlike the place at which I'm staying now!). Peter was responsive and very accommodating as was the owner, Althia, even though she was in the US throughout my stay. The food was made to order and wonderful, including my favorite fresh squeezed limeade, with the only exception of my last meal where the gravy from another meal that was made for other guests was used for my meal and it was a mismatch. I was disappointed that this shortcut was taken for my last feast in paradise, making it fall far short of the other meals. However, that doesn't detract for the fact that the other 20 meals were PHENOMENAL and clearly time and effort was taken with each production. It has been a year since I was there, but the advertised TV didn't get satellite service and one could really only use it to play DVDs, which I had no interest in doing. For better or worse, I'm a CNN junkie so that was a significant drawback for me, but I know I'm probably one of a few who would spend their vacation watching CNN so this is likely not a concern for most and there are ample DVDs if one is a movie watcher. :-) Sitting on the verandah every day reading, working, or taking my meals while watching the waves was absolutely idyllic and it was exactly what I needed. In the Master Suite, I never used the AC as the breeze was cool and refreshing. French doors and windows all around made it a wonderful space and I enjoyed my daily ritual of opening all of the windows and doors for a panoramic sense of openness. Wonderful! Nearby attractions include rafting but I didn't partake. If one is looking for a tranquil retreat or a romantic getaway, ! I could not recommend By the Sea Villa more highly! Wonderful place, excellent staff and management, lovely surroundings. It was the full package!
