I had an awesome experience and met all kinds of great people at the hostel as well as locals, snowbirds and other travellers. Shout out to the taxi drivers in cars and on motorbikes! You added a touch of the island I hadn't foreseen and made the logistics a breeze. Judy House is a well located welcoming place to end and start your days in Negril. I am very grateful for the wonderful staff; Isme (and sista!), Lisa, Merkel, Sed and the nice little gardener who's name slips my mind. I miss you all! Thanks for everything!

Nice and cozy Hostel away from all the resorts! It’s an own space with a good neighborhood. You have your own space, but the people around always open for a nice talk. The people who are working there are also very nice! Can only recommend to stay here!

Lovely Stay

Infact it was around this time last year, I spent a week in Judy House. As I'm familiar with the area,having relatives living locally,it's the perfect spot,for access to the West end,the beach and the town center. 

Very calm and relaxing environment,with fantastic staff and management,that provide the right mix of attention and hospitality. Special mention of MarTel, really cool guy,who is always ready to be of assistance. You will be well catered for. The amenities and layout of the premises are fantastic and all together make for a great place to stay. I would recommend it to anyone that wants to experience the communal vibe of NEGRIL.

The proprietor SUE has prerty much nailed it for the seasoned traveler,that knows and appreciates good value for money. Next trip I'll be trying out the next spot further round the west end,which is just an amazing,well put together accommodation that has to be experienced, if you love that REAL authentic Jamaican vibe !

Middle of Paradise

We stayed in Kim cottage for two nights, great quirky little place around 2kms from Negril town centre.
Nice wee Patio with hammock.
Comfy bed.
Fully equipped Kitchen.
Honesty bar.
Lovely, helpful staff.

Excellent quirky cabins in Negril

I love the cabins and setting.  The gardens are wonderful.  Our cabin had everything we needed, staff were so nice and we met some other travelers.  Quick walk to the coast with some cool places to walk to in an area that is a bit more lower key then right at 7 mile beach.  When we continued walking we hit central negril (shopping etc) in about 15 minutes and could then walk onto 7 mile beach for as long as we wanted. 

If in the area I will definitely stay at Judy House.

Cool spot to land for a few days!

We had a really cute stay at Judy's -- very rustic but has everything needed including a little corner shop with basics like snacks and waters and a little grocery store very close by.  We didn't know this but tap water is not drinkable in Jamaica --- BRING A WATER FILTER!  I wouldn't consider it very walkable though; you'd need a taxi to get into town.

Very close to the town, the beach and the bars of negril, we had a wonderful accomodation  in the nature, calm, sourrounded by flowers, between trees in colourfull cute worden houses, which were equipped with everything you need. We enjoyed to lay in the hammock on our terrace. There Was a nice kitchen wich could be used by everyone, and a really nice meetin-point-terrace on the highest point ot the Aarena with an amazing view, where we sat together with the other guests in the evenings and enjoyed the atmosphere of jamaicas backpacker-scene. We arrived at judy house by walking barefoot from negril seven-mile beach, and we  immediately fell in love with the absolutely magical atmosphere, the kind welcome, the friendly staff. We also liked the fridge wich was always filled with chilled lokal beer for us.
Thank you Sue, for this wonderful place and for the expierience to stay there. We are longing to come back, because we really loved it.

A stay in paradise

i knew judy's would be fine.  I travelled with my two teenagers, a girl and a boy.  we stayed in seperate small rooms.  Place extremely clean.  my favorite place is the beach at the bottom of the hill. i hung out there a lot with great snokelling and found myself going less and less over to the 7 mile beach area. I didnt need it and i started to like the neighborhood and the "route taxi" system up and down the main stretch; dont miss out on this opportunity!  And finally , i loved when a tour bus would pull up , empty the tourists out into one of the 2 beach bars and watch me and my kids playing  on our private beach; we were experiencing that "real Jamaiica".

wonderful place

Love it! Everything was perfect! People there are so nice and helpfull! We walked to almost every place we went, but there's taxi just down the street so it's easy to go where you want if you don't want to walk! Make sure to go to the 7 miles and the rick's cafe! Enjoy you're stay!

Staying at Judy House was great ! We stayed in a 2 bed room and had a great time.

Sue, the owner, is super helpful and organized the transport from Montego Bay airport. The staff are all very nice.

The hostel is wel located between the 7 mile beach and the cliffs of west end (45 min walk or 10 min taxi ride). There is a great little bar called Canoe that serves food about 5 minutes away walking.

Its a great way to explore Negril and meet fellow travelers.
