57 reviewsResidenza Carducci, Verona, Italy Verona is a must-see city, an authentically Italian city still livable and pleasantly visited without the massive crowds of Venice, Florence, and Rome. However, there are plenty of tourists from all over the world and many options for hotels. My favorite and highly recommended option is the Residenza Carducci, a family-owned, fully licensed four-story house with two independent suite apartments on the first floor. The location is ideal just across the Ponte Nuovo in the historical part of town called Veronetta, blocks from the centro storico without its trappings. Across the street is a great spot, Café Carducci and close to the best pizza in Verona, Pizzeria da Salvatore. Each suite has a living room/dining/kitchenette plus a large bedroom and modern private bathroom. There's also a laundry room. The owners Michael (originally from California but living in Verona over 40 years) and Giovanna (a native of Verona) Lake also own and offer Residenza Verrazano, a large, modern, fully equipped three bedroom apartment ideal for families and longer stays. All three options are superb: moderate prices, ideal locations, recently renovated suite apartments in historical buildings, large, modern rooms and bathrooms and equipped kitchenette, and friendly owners on property.
