Had such a personal experience with our stay here. We only booked a room through Booking.com that day, so when we turned up naturally no-one was there to meet us! But the locals in the bar next door were very helpful and after some calling of his mobile, he managed to come down and let us in. The bnb is very small, only 2 rooms, and then a communal kitchen area where breakfast is served in the morning, at whatever time you chose, cooked by the owner himself. Beautiful, unique rooms, the house was originally his grandpa's that he converted into a guesthouse. He invited us to the local pub with him once we arrived, which was a great experience, we met some really lovely people and learnt about the local dialect too! He also recommended us a local restaurant (Luna Rossa) which was 1 of the best meals of our whole 2 week trip travelling all over Sicily and Southern Italy. He was SO SO helpful, gave us maps of the area, showed a nice walking/hiking route to do, with extremely detailed instructions and maps of the hike so we could not get lost. Gave us advice about the weather, and therefore what time is best to walk. Hands down will visit Terranova again, will be staying at this bnb and will be eating at Luna Rossa again. Such a friendly, welcoming, personal experience. Perfect for those of you wanting to stay in the middle of nowhere, in a tiny town, where only a handful speak English, surrounded by a stunning landscape and endless hikes and explorations of the local area.
