36 reviewsWonderful find, way out of the way down a long dirt track but right on a stunningly beautiful lake hardly anyone's ever heard of. It's so peaceful, so beautiful, and just the perfect place to unwind. The building is an extended old farmhouse with solid traditional fixtures and decor, but does not suffer from that. At I Cavalieri there's also a small swimming pool and kayaks for rent - the lake is absolutely perfect for pottering around on a boat. There's also a restaurant for dinner in the evening and the chef - who doubles up as the building manager and also offers cookery classes - really knows what he's doing, serving up sumptious classic dishes every night. Even though it's isolated, there is the little town of Piediluca about 15 minutes' drive away (though maybe only 5 minutes in a kayak) with an ATM and various restaurants, and in addition to the lake vistas there are stunning hill views all around. The couple who manage the place are charming and friendly, and really made our stay special. The only things that caused this place to get four stars not five are a lack of wifi and a charge for using the swimming pool. Otherwise, highly recommended.
