I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hostel. There was a sense of welcome and community here that I haven't experienced at a hostel in decades.The staff were wonderful, and I was invited to join in on a barbecue one night, on a pizza run another. My bed was comfortable, the hostel was clean, the kitchen well equipped, and the wifi worked (in the common areas). Admittedly, as a place to stay while exploring Florence, it's not exactly a perfect location. I neglected to check it out on Google Maps before arriving, and the taxi fare cost about as much as two nights in a private room. The bus fare to Florence is 4.50 each way, but buses are infrequent, the last one back from Florence leaves at 7.50, and the trip takes about an hour. But it always felt good to return there at the end of the day, and it's a wonderful hostel for just chilling out if that's what you want.
