We had an enjoyable and relaxing stay at La Casa di Melo as part of our 3 centre vacation in Sicily (Palermo, Siracusa and Taormina). This was the longest stay in our vacation (6 nights).

The accommodation was most comfortable (and peaceful) and the service from Lorenzo, Marina and Rafael was perfect and most helpful - especially helping to overcome our satnav challenges.

Breakfast were well served by Inde and our thanks to him for his early morning welcome.

As commented at the time, it would have helped if we realised in advance that the ‘dinner’ we pre-booked would have been described as a ’tapas dinner’ rather than the traditional Italian menu of appetiser, primi, secondi, dolce. 

Adding more variety to the dinner would also have added value, especially given a 6-night stay. However, we found Paper Moon (in Casibilie) along with dinner at La Casa Melo gave us a balanced/well-fed stay - we are not vegetarians or vegans. 

Not that this was an issue, in fact we found the presentation and quality of the tapas dinner was excellent. Also the wine list was interesting. Over the 2 weeks our knowledge and appreciation of Siciialn wines improved significantly.

A special place - on an organic farm, offering high quality accomkodation and fridnely, helful service.

Our Sicilian flight has just ended... 4 days that have made us literally fall in love with this beautiful land and its people. The house of Melo enters your heart and comes home with the desire to return there as soon as possible. We stayed in one of the new suites, to say the least wonderful...a mix of modern design and old white pieces reminiscent of the classic Sicilian style.I loved it right away 😍.The mansion is magical, refurbished with taste and every corner has its charm... From the end of breakfast, the various lounges under the portico, to the pool area which enjoys a unique sunset.

It's pure magic.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights at the end of June during our trip to Sicily. Everything is perfect, from breakfast to dinner. The garden and the pool are a real corner of paradise, especially after a day out.

Just perfect.

We enjoyed a very comfortable two night stay at La Casa di Melo as a base to explore Syracuse. It's a little off the beaten track and a car is recommended. The reception and kitchen/breakfast staff were all excellent: very welcoming, friendly and efficient. 

Our room was absolutely fine for an agriturismo and very clean. Unfortunately they weren't serving evening meals (due, I assume, to Covid restrictions) but the Sicilian breakfasts were wonderful. Freshly squeezed oranges and homemade flans  were both a little piece of heaven on earth. We also enjoyed a glass of wine and some antipasti under the veranda in the evening, a lovely experience.

Friendly and comfortable agriturismo 

Perfect accommodation. Very clean, clean and peaceful structure. Rich, plentiful and delicious dining. The staff is very kind and ready for advice and suggestions.

Perfect place to stay.

Melo's house is a jewel of quality, style and comfort with an extremely chic swimming pool. The location is quiet and yet perfect for excursions to the villages and beaches that are within walking distance. The staff is very attentive and friendly and breakfast, served outside, is a real treat (100% organic of course). The owners of the house and all the generous staff with attention and advice! Unforgettable the appetizer by the swimming pool!!

An Unforgettable Stay

We spent 4 days with a couple of friends in this corner of paradise a few kilometers from Syracuse. Immerse in the tranquility of the countryside but in a strategic position to visit several places and beaches in the Syracuse area. The structure has recently been sophisticatedly renovated with a mix of objects from the past that bring you back to distant times and modernity. We really felt at home. Staff very kind (especially Manuela who welcomed us on arrival and cocked us in our relaxing afternoons by the wonderful swimming pool).

A corner of heaven

This farmhouse, which is located in the countryside of Cassibile and has recently been intelligently renovated, is very good. We slept two nights in June 2021 (it had just reopened from the lockdown) and the reception was pleasant. The room was very simple, the bathroom was functional (and without bidets). The breakfast was wonderful with many specialties both sweet and salty. We were disappointed by the overwhelming and incomprehensible rigidity of the management when we asked for the possibility, even for a fee, that a friend of ours would enter the farmhouse to make company with my wife in the pool (there were no other guests in the pool) and when we asked for the check out in the afternoon: both requests were not granted.

Nice but stiff

We were very pleased with this stay, but we were disappointed. We knew in advance that there were only good Wi-Fi reception on the toilet - that there were dogs on the premises, and we had no problem with it. We were close to Noto and Siracusa (no car, by the way!) but unfortunately we had the following criticisms: - We noticed that the season was over. The staff were all very disinterested. - Wi-Fi reception was good on the toilet - We knew in advance that there were dogs on the premises and we had no problem with it.

The hotel is in a rural area, near the small town of Cassibile. To arrive it is important to follow the tips sent by the hotel, because our GPS has missed the way.
The location is great for visiting the beautiful cities of southern Sicily as well as the beautiful beaches.
The property is very beautiful, in a quiet place, with a beautiful pool and the room is clean and very spacious.
Breakfast is good and served outside, with the company of the pleasant dog Nino.
As a suggestion, the hotel could improve the quality of WiFi and provide maps and tourist information of the area.
