17 reviewsThe pristine and fully equipped apartment in Nuovo Messico resort was exactly as described. The swimming pool, gym and gardens were, in fact, more impressive than described. We were particularly impressed with the large well maintained pool which we could see that Papa Raddino cleaning with great care every morning. The bar was fully stocked with bar snacks, alcoholic drinks and refreshments. Roberta makes a great cocktail! The genuine welcome given to us by the Raddino family as well as the excellent and friendly service provided by Roberta was truly fantastic. The resort is only a few feet away from a fantastic beach Lido Arenella and a charming port where we took a scuba diving boat excursion that lasted 2 hours while only costing €15 per person, this excursion was organised by Roberta in the resort. Twice during our stay the resort hosted events; a dance night and a daytime pool party to celebrate ferragusa. There was always a happy party atmosphere, we loved the soundtrack at the pool. The family who own this beautiful resort twice welcomed us into their own home for lunch or dinner, serving us wonderful local pasta dishes. My mother was even taken to a beautiful outdoor local mass and we were really made feel part of the community. This resort is a really good base for young and old and it was possible for us to easily visit local towns and cities along the southeast coast of the island. We did some wonderful daytrips by car to Noto, Modica, Ragusa, Marina di Ragusa and of course Siracusa which is connected by bridge to a beautiful, tiny island called Ortegia with great shopping and restaurants. We would recommend Nuovo Messico to families or couples, young and old or just anyone who wants a good value for money, safe, friendly and welcoming environment to stay in while exploring the beautiful, enchanting and exciting island of Sicily. A big thank you to the young proprietor Francesco, his wonderful parents and the fantastic staff Roberta and Marco for taking such good care of us during our lovely stay. We really hope to return next year!
