55 reviewsThe owners Riccardo and Marella were welcoming charming hosts. The B&B is on the lower floor of a building that does not look particularly inviting from the outside. However, this is typical of many city B&B's in Italy and once inside all is fine. Do not be put off on arrival! Our room was spotless, a decent size with lovely modern bathroom, daily cleaning and change of towels, very comfy bed with memory foam mattress, air conditioning and excellent double glazing to keep out any noise from the road. Marella provided a wonderful and varied continental breakfast every morning, cold meats, cheese, pastries, bread, jams, fresh fruit, juice and good coffee. She was very encouraging when I practised my Italian with her! The location of the B&B is perfect and within easy walking distance of the archaeological park in one direction, and the island of Ortigia in the other. The little tourist hop on - hop off bus stops just along the road and is a good way of seeing Siracusa and Ortigia to get ones bearings before heading out to see the sights. Riccardo's restaurant recommendations were spot on and we didn't have a bad meal anywhere. There are bars and restaurants a short walk away on Via Umberto, and plenty in Ortigia.
