28 reviewsWe stayed in La Terrazza #1 for a month and having traveled from Lugano Switzerland down to Sicilia via Positano we never truly enjoyed anywhere as much. Our hosts cannot do enough for us. They have an office on the top floor of the building and are immediately reponsive to any little request. The efficiency apartment is new, super clean and well appointed. The wifi is the best we have experienced anywhere in our travels in Europe and the States. It's located in the Old city but is an easy walk to the train station, one of two grocery stores and of course all the beauty of Spoleto. If you have a car the access to the Old City is easy and the parking is plentiful. The bus stop is around the cornor for connections to towns like Montefalco or Norcia. For us, the wrap around balcony is a dream. We found Spoleto to be a great location to visit the eastern part of Umbria and the beautiful hiking around the greater Spoleto area....a trip up the Via di Roma for lunch at Monteluco is a must. Spoleto advertises itself as "Spolete Senza Auto", Spoleto without cars. There is a tunnel under the city running from top to bottom with a motorized walkway as well as a series of escalators that also go to the city's citadel, La Rocca , making the entire city pedestrian and handicap accessible. An astonishing feat for a ancient Roman hill town. Oh yes, they are both free. We loved the LA Terrazza, it's owners and Spoleto so much we decided to return for two additional weeks after visiting Orvieto. You will not be disappointed.
