85 reviewsMy husband and I spent a couple days at Il Vigneto in Spoleto in the beginning of October 2013. Prior to our stay we recieved promp replys and information from the owner Enrico. At arrival we were greeted by Stefano and his friendly dog Margot. Stefano is a wonderful host, social and funny, accomodating in all ways and also very proffesional! Our room was clean with a comfortable bed and had a modern bathroom. We woke up to an amazing view of Vigneto's vineyards, olive trees and the valley. Stefano had breakfast ready for us in the morning, fresh bread and cake he had baked himself and homemade jam. After spending the day in Spoleto, only a 5 minute drive away, we came home to an amazing 3 course dinner Stefano had prepared for us. Local ham and cheese, vegetables from the garden and Il Vigneto's own wonderful red wine. He also made us Spoleto's specialty "Stangozzi al Tartufo" , a dish I remembered from the last time I stayed in Spoleto 25 years ago! Il Vigneto is a perfect getaway where you can experience living in a traditional historic farmhouse. The day we left we had problems with our rental car. Stefano went out of his way to help us, made us lunch and served prosecco while we waited for the tow truck, and afterwards drove us to the car workshop. We wish we could have stayed longer, and hope we will be able to return soon again.
