Agriturismo La Collina

We stayed in this beautiful agriturismo not too far from the lovely village of Pitigliano. We were only passing through Southern Tuscany and stayed for one night, but wished we could have stayed more! The place looks quite new and the rooms are modern. We stayed at the "Lavender" room, that was decorated in lovely lilac/purple colours. The room has a double bed in the main area and two single beds in the mezzanine area, so it suited perfectly to our family of four. The stairs to the mezzanine are pretty steep, so it would not suit for too young children. The bathroom, although not very spacious, was nice and the shower good. The air conditioning of the room comes from the pipes under the floor that keep the room cool - very clever, as it works well and does not dry the air like normal air con. The grounds of the agriturismo are very well maintained. As it was a hot summer day, we spent most of the time in or around the swimming pool. There are several fruit trees around the garden and the fruit is used in their restaurant. We had dinner in the restaurant of the agriturismo. The restaurant seems to be quite popular, so it is advised to book at least for weekends. The food is excellent! As we do not eat meat, they came up with a veggie based starter platter that was not in the menu and we absolutely loved it. Pasta with wild mushrooms and spinach ravioli were also very nice. Breakfast is ok. Due to Covid restrictions they can not have it buffee style, so you tell them what you want from the selection and they serve it to you. Their homemade cakes were an absolute hit among my kids. We definitely recommend this agriturismo, both for accommodation and the restaurant part, and hope one day we can return.
