Alle Due Porte

I can't say enough nice things about Alle due Porte, or Mariangela. This was my first time staying in Siena, and I am so happy I stayed at this wonderful B and B! Mariangela is a most gracious hostess, and the rooms and the breakfast area are simply charming! I think the building itself is 1000 years old, and it is so beautiful with the large exposed wooden beams! It's truly a beautiful place! Our room was very large in size, complete with double-paned windows so you wouldn't hear the street traffic. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was simply divine! The bathroom floor was heated which was a very nice surprise! Breakfast was served from 8:30--10:30 I believe, and Mariangela was there preparing delicious coffee and food for her guests. My sister and I absolutely fell in love with this B and B! Mariangela took the time to explain to us how the key worked for the front door, and showed us the kitchen area. She even had a wine opener available for her guests to use! I have to say, that was a wonderful touch! This was the only establishment throughout our trip in Italy, that offered a wine opener for its guests! It's the little touches that made the difference for us. Mariangela also gave us a map and directions when we first arrived, so we could orientate ourselves with the area. She is simply one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! The location of Alle due Porte is excellent, an easy 5-10min walk to the Campo, and there are many restaurants and shops along the way, and an easy walk to the Duomo as well. Please stay at this wonderful B and B; you won't be disappointed!
