Read it All! When we arrived we got scared. We got welcome by foreigners and gave us little attention. The morning after we got served a breakfast of ready packed single portion food. I was quite disappointed and I asked to talk to the owner. A lady came out, nice and minute. Busy, very busy. Running the farm, the b&b and the entire business with her husband Alessandro, three sons, and few foreigners who called her 'mama' in more than one occasion. A wonderful family, open hearted, an example of integration and harmony. Hard workers, very hard workers, but always available to take care of you. They showed us the farm and their products, let my children play with their animals, ride their horses, even take milk from their cows. The entire experience change dramatically. When I explained we are not used to eat packed food, they offered immediately a fresh, km 0, actually m 0, healthy and organic food: A fresh baked cake she must have baked at night, fresh eggs, homemade bread, coffee, milk still hot just got from cow (and pasteurized) for us. She told us that many clients complained when she served the products of the farm and preferred long life packed milk and food. Definately not our case. The coming days we had the chance to meet her family who always welcomed us with a cold drink, a coffee and a chair next to them at any time of the day. Please note that twice they served us breakfast at 6.30 am as we had to hike. They are good genuine people. Rare to find and lucky to meet. They set for our kids a swimming pool and shared a few rides on Fiamma and Francesca (their lady horses) which my kids could not wait to wake up for. I think Francesca liked me. I normally have not good relation with horses, but she was following me and look for my attention at all times. When we initially asked for the price of the dinner we were told 25 eur for a full meal per person! Being 4 of us, it sounded a very high price. Last night we decided to try anyway, after a full hiking to the very top of Etna, we had no forces to move. As you can see from picture, we asked a mix grill and some tomato salad, she added some bruschetta, breads, 1 liter wine (so happy I had not to drive and could try it), water, coffee, soft drinks and amaroes. 30 eur for 4 of us. So honest. So good fresh food. They will need some help to market themselves as few times we were misleaded in the way they explained or we understood things. We spent only 3 nights and we are planning to go back for a longer period. The room was clean and confortable, made every morning. We did not know that side of Sicily and we were pleasantly surprised and impressed. We will see you soon again! Thanks for all! You are a lovely family and great cook!
