The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, in a good location and provide all the information necessary (in English and Italian) regarding travelling to attractions and restaurants around the island. What really makes Farchikala stand out however are the wonderful hosts who were extremely attentive and helpful at every opportunity. It is a family run business and we found everyone who worked there to be genuinely very caring. The main guy who deals with the guests (Mr Carmelo I think) was a really charming character and always tried to speak with us enthusiastically despite our complete lack of Italian. While we were there our ferry to port Empedocle was cancelled and we were left on Lampedusa for an additional 2 nights. Our hosts were fantastic regarding this as there was some uncertainty as to whether they had a spare room for us as some of their expected guests would be requiring the ferry in order to reach Lampedusa. We were kept right up to date with things and at no point was I worried as I knew if there was no room for us our hosts would help us find alternative accomodation. Would highly recommend Farchikala to anyone thinking of Lampedusa.
