B&B PortAtenea

Beautiful B&B in a great spot in Agrigento. Highly recommend it here. Staff was great and had great recommendations for the local attractions. Beds were comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean.

Stayed there overnight when we travelled to Agrigento to see the Valley of the Temples.
The room were very clean, and had all the facilities you could want, including a very reasonably priced minibar Which was a good way to spend the day looking over the night lit temples in the distance from the roof top.
Beds were comfortable and bathrooms well set out.
Breakfast on the roof top was a substantial continental breaky with great coffee.

Nice location near lots of restaurants and shops. Helpful and flexible staff accommodated our late arrival. Narrow and steep stairs to entry floor. Breakfast on rooftop terrace with a view. Nice size room with balcony—with windows open there was street noise from a bar, but quiet when closed. If driving be aware that central Agrigento is hilly and complicated, so be sure to set nav for your parking destination. B&B is on the edge of pedestrian area and dicey if you drive too close to B&B. Identify a parking area ahead of time. English spoken.

Great location in old city, very friendly owner and our room was very spacious and nice. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely. Great value! Ask for room 1 if you don't want to climb stairs. For dinner they recommended Tratoria Manhattan which was great too!

We highly recommend this lovely little b&b located at the beginning of Agrigento’s Main Street. The owners are very kind and helpful, the room we had was big, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast is served in a tastefully decorated small room in winter (and on a beautiful terrace in summer), and is very good.

This place is solid gold.  Great room, well located and very fairly priced.  The property has a great rooftop seating area with a view of the Valley of the Temples and the ocean.  Excellent breakfast and the owner was extremely helpful.  We would stay here again without thinking twice about it.

Delightful B&B! Breakfast on the terrace was a great way to start the day.Sandra and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

All excellent, including their recommendation for the restaurant next door.  Good location, very comfortable.  We hand washed a few things and took advantage of the small clothesline on one of the balconies.

We loved this place.  Generous amenities, great location, excellent breakfast and very the people that worked at B&B extremely helpful.

Overall we were really happy with our stay here overnight to visit the Valley of the Temples. Great location for old town and restaurants. Lovely room with high ceiling, balcony, air con and comfortable bed, and a good bathroom with decent shower etc. Roof terrace was lovely and available during the day to enjoy a quiet coffee with the beautiful views, as well as where breakfast is served. Breakfast itself was fairly average (different breads, yogurt, cereal, hot drinks, juice). The owner gave us some great recommendations for our onward journey in Sicily which we really appreciated. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others. Lots of stairs so not good for those with mobility difficulties. Pay for parking nearby on weekdays.

Lovely room and breakfast terrace

We stayed at room 1 of the B&B for one night. Our room was very nice, clean and included two small balconies facing the busy shopping street.
Unfortunately, the walls are quite thin and in the morning we got woken up from the street noise and also from other guests, outside our room discussing with the receptionist. 
Also, be aware that there are two quite steep stairs you have to walk up to reach the reception area and the rooms.

Beautiful little b&b on the main street

A wonderful welcome by the charming owner ( you should get in touch before arrival so she can be there when you come). Very nice cosy warm room ( in January), with excellent double windows isolation from the street nearby. The breakfast was rich with local products and all the personnel is so friendly you have the impression you have always belonged there. A must in Agrigento !

Super nice

We enjoyed this place.  The owner was very kind. On arrival,  we lost our way close to the B and B and asked the person at the front desk of another hotel for directions. He called the Portaenea owner on our behalf, who came in his car and guided us to a parking lot close to the B and B. Happy ending, it could have been a lot more frustrating and time consuming.  The place is pleasant, the room large and well furnished.  The breakfast was on a lovely terrace with a view over the valley nearby including the Valley of Temples.  The location is right on the main pedestrian street where there are lots of restaurants, but we did not find it too noisy. The pillow were lumpy and uncomfortable and could do with being replaced for new more comfortable modern ones.

Very pleasant, efficient and helpful receptionist provided maps, bus advice, timetables and dining suggestions.  Large bedroom with balcony overlooking the valley of the temples. Comfortable beds. Rack for clothes. No kettle or drink making facilities. Bedrooms are located on the third floor, a total of about 50 steps from the road, there is no lift.A good continental buffet breakfast served on the terrace with very good views of the valley of the temples some distance below. Easy access to the terrace and bedroom at all hours. There is a fridge set aside for guests to use in the reception area. The PortAtenea B&B is about 3-400m from the bus station on a level route and is closer to the railway station, although that is on a steady incline. The bus stop to the valley of the temples and the coastal resorts is only 200m away.

Good central position, outstanding roof terrace.

We stayed one night just to see the temples and museum. Unfortunately we arrived on a Sunday and the latter was closed after 1pm. The B&B is well located, close to bus and railway stations (bus is best and quickest) The room was clean and more than adequate for our needs. Sandra the owner speaks good English and was extremely kind and helpful. She is not on-site all the time so it is essential that you take note of her check-in times (am & pm) and let her know in advance when you are going to arrive.

A brief but pleasant stay

Apart from the climb up a long flight of stairs to get to the B&B, all was perfect. The rooms are spacious and clean, beds comfortable, breakfast very good with many home made treats and preserves.  The young woman who helped us was very kind and cheerful.  Sandra, the owner speaks English, the young woman spoke a bit, enough to help us. The location is very nice, on the edge of the pedestrian street, in front of a charming square.  It is a place I wish we had spend more time.
