62 reviewsWe stayed in four different hotels during our 8 days in Sicily. Colle dei Rustici was far and away our favorite, so much so, we extended our two-night stay for one additional night. The two-bedroom apartment was chic and comfortable, beautifully decorated and well-constructed. Good WiFi and decent A/C. The kitchen was decently equipped - needed one more long knife for cutting bread and vegetables. There was a stovetop but no oven or microwave; we improvised heating up some leftovers by using a large pan lined with aluminum foil. It worked! No issues with electricity service and there was an abundance of hot water. The views of the surrounding countryside and down to the sea are stunning, so too the property itself, with cacti and rosemary, lemons and apricots all growing in abundance. If you need to be in the center of the tourist action, look elsewhere. But if you want a charming retreat for peace, quiet, and relaxation, Colle dei Rustici is a fantastic choice. The Valle dei Templi is a 12-minute drive, the beautiful historic centro of Agrigento (wonderful shopping and restaurants) can be reached in less than 20 minutes. We also enjoyed the "lungomare" at nearby San Leone, which features many bars cafes restaurants pizzerie and gelaterie, also a short drive away. A few words about Barbara, the lovely hostess - she welcomed us warmly and was very helpful in connecting us with a private tour guide for the Valle dei Templi, as well as recommending restaurants and a for-hire boat, the "Impetuoso," which took us on an unforgettable ride out to the Scala dei Turchi. Staying at Colle dei Rustici was a highlight of our family vacation!
